The Bottom Line on Gun Control

I love it when the left decides to get in the gun control debate.

Because they do what liberals do best, they apply their feelings to the matter, instead of facts and truths.

Take for example Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy. He was put into office by Rahm Emanuel, so you automatically know where his campaign contributions went.

McCarthy says that "federal gun laws are akin to 'government-sponsered racism'".

“I want you to connect one more dot on that chain of African-American history in this country, and tell me if I’m crazy: Federal gun laws that facilitate the flow of illegal firearms into our urban centers, across this country, that are killing black and brown children.”

Ok…first of all…how can a federal law "facilitate the flow of illegal firearms"?

Wouldn't a law by definition make something legal or illegal?

And secondly, all our government has succeeded in doing lately about gun flows is INTENTIONALLY flowing weapons across the border into Mexico, but that's a separate issue.

Also, guns do not by themselves decided when and where to fire. Someone has to be on the other side pulling the trigger. I have never seen a gun fire in an intentional act of violence without a human being behind it.

If you have, please email me.

McCarthy then went on to attack gun manufacturers saying: "there has to be “a recognition of who’s paying the price for gun manufacturers being rich and living in gated communities.”

Again, see above, gun manufacturers do not pull the trigger. And where they live doesn't matter.

Now we could argue about whether or not gun manufacturers CARE about where their guns end up, but here again, the negative publicity doesn't help them out much. Gun deaths bring up this whole argument on control, which is bad for business.

Here's the kicker:

"McCarthy told parishioners an anecdote about a brutal night of killings in Newark, N.J., where he was previously head of the police department. McCarthy said that after he got home that night, he turn on the TV to relax, and tuned in to Sarah Palin’s Alaska.

“She was caribou-hunting and talking about the right to bear arms,” McCarthy said. “Why wasn’t she at the crime scene with me?”

The bottom line is this: Liberals blame the guns themselves, not the people who are doing it. Unless it comes to the environment, the can't believe people would intentionally hurt each other. They don't believe that people can manage themselves either.

As a cop, I would have thought that McCarthy would have learned one simple lesson: Bad guys don't care about the laws. Even if you outlawed guns completely the bad guys would still get them, and kill the good guys.

I guess common sense is not a qualification to work for Rahm Emmanuel in Chicago.
