Walmart,
P&G, produce family-friendly film for TV. Watch 'Secrets of the
Mountain'
It's
not often we have good news to announce regarding television
programming.
April 15, 2010
I'm
excited to tell you that Walmart and Procter & Gamble have joined in an
effort to produce a rare milestone - a family friendly movie on
prime-time TV this Friday evening (April 16), on NBC at 8pm/7pm
Central.

Secrets
of the Mountain is
the debut product in Walmart's Family Moments campaign.
It is not a Christian film, but it promotes wholesome family values in a
positive manner, has no objectionable content and is totally
family-friendly. A Wall Street Journal article in February
reported that Procter & Gamble spent more than $4.5 million to produce the
film and Walmart purchased rights to be the presenting
sponsor.
This
two-hour action/adventure film focuses on a single mother who takes her family
to visit a mountain cabin she has inherited from an eccentric uncle. But when
they arrive, they quickly learn that the mountain is much more than it seems.
It's an edge-of-the-seat thriller that reminds us that when times are tough,
families don't run away from their problems - they run back to each other. As
the story unfolds, the characters display positive traits such as honesty and
perseverance - things that are important to pass on to our
children.
This
movie is action-packed and well-produced. It evokes images of Indiana Jones
style adventure. Watch the
trailer
now.
By
showing the networks and the movie's corporate sponsors (in this case Walmart
and Procter & Gamble) that this type of entertainment is wanted and
appreciated, we'll have the opportunity to change the future of entertainment.
This means there will be more movies and TV shows your family can enjoy
together. We simply
need to show that there is an eager audience waiting!
I
encourage you and your family to make it a "family movie night" by enjoying
"Secrets of the Mountain" together, this Friday, April 16, at 8/7c on
NBC.
