These two companies deserve a pat on the back from you

Hobby Lobby and Walmart step up to bring "The Bible" to television.

On occasion, national retailers step up and do something that inspires Christians to take notice. And it is in these times that Christians should let them know they are appreciated.

Hobby Lobby Hobby Lobby placed a full-page ad on Easter Sunday in hundreds of newspapers across the country. (Click the picture at right to view a larger version.) The company shared the good news of John 3:16 and encouraged millions of Americans to watch "The Bible" miniseries.

Action: Post a note of thanks on Hobby Lobby’s Facebook page and let them know you appreciate their God-honoring decision to place the ad. 

In addition, will you pray for Hobby Lobby founder David Green? Hobby Lobby is currently in a lawsuit, challenging Obamacare’s mandate that the company provide abortion drugs to employees. The 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals announced last Friday it would grant the retailer’s request for the entire court to hear its challenge. A hearing date has not been set.

Walmart
Walmart was a major presenting sponsor of "The Bible" miniseries on The History Channel. The company said, "Walmart is proud to sponsor programming that is so appreciated by the families we serve. This series is being viewed by millions of people across the country, most of whom are Walmart shoppers. Family friendly programming is good for our customer, our business and our culture."

Action: Post a note of appreciation on Walmart's Facebook page, thanking them for helping present "The Bible" television series.
