AFA States: Implementation of Obamacare Makes Strengthening Our Economy Impossible
Repealing Obamacare will Help Get America Back on Track

As politicians, economists and Americans-at-large debate the pros and cons of a national health care system, American Family Association urges concerned citizens to demand a real budget and not a continued resolution.

Dan Celia, host of Financial Issues on the American Family Radio Network and president and CEO of Financial Issues Stewardship Ministries, Inc., published an opinion piece this week

and wrote that “Obamacare will be the final nail in the economic coffin of this country…Americans and policy makers should repeal Obamacare by approving Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) latest budget proposal—one that will create a balanced budget in 10 years and allow the economy to finally flourish.”

Conversely, the CBO recently updated its financial projection for Obamacare stating that for the ten years starting in 2012, the new cost estimate has jumped to $1.76 trillion.

“If we are concerned about American families,” Celia said, “we must also be gravely concerned with the way that decision makers in our country are spending—and wasting—money. Every year, more and more of American families’ incomes are being whittled down because of unhealthy and irresponsible government spending. Moving forward with Obamacare is not only another ‘nail in the economic coffin,’ but it also infringes on our Constitutional rights and religious liberties.”

Celia goes on to say that “...I believe Ryan’s proposal is a good one. Budget negotiations will begin to take shape next week. Next month we will face the issue of raising the deficit ceiling or our borrowing limit. Now is the time for Republicans to insist on a real budget and not the continued resolution.

“Obamacare in its present form makes strengthening our economy and getting deficits under control impossible,” Celia continues. “In fact, many Democrats are slowly realizing they have no chance of reelection as the truth about Obamacare unfolds.”

Celia adds that financial stewardship in politics is also about setting aside differences and pride for the good of American families.

“Our country’s resources are not our own, but God’s,” he said. “Everything we have has been given from the Father, and we have been put on this Earth to be faithful stewards of those resources. Thus far, that responsibility has been greatly neglected. We pray that our country will return to the foundation of Luke 14:28-30; ‘For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he may have enough to finish it; lest perhaps, after he has laid the foundation and is not able to finish, all those seeing begin to mock him, saying, This man began to build and was not able to finish.’”
