American Family Association: U.S. Has the Most Pro-Abortion President in History
41 Years After Roe v. Wade, It’s Time to Extend Civil Rights to the Tiniest of Americans
As the country reflects on 41 years since the landmark Supreme Court case, Roe
v. Wade, which legalized abortion in the U.S., the
one-million-constituent-strong American Family Association says
the four-decades-old law needs to be revisited, and Americans’ votes must speak
up for those who can’t.
“We have the most pro-abortion president in the history of the United
States,” said Tim Wildmon, President of American Family Association. “It’s a
sad time in our culture when our leaders won’t stand up for the helpless babies
who will never have the chance to take their first breath, or cry, play, run,
learn and grow into adults who would contribute to society. Furthermore, the
damage extends far beyond these little lives, as mothers, fathers and families
are scarred forever by abortion.”
According to LifeNews.com, a leading news agency on right-to-life issues,
more than 56 million unborn babies have died as a result of the devastating
1973 court decision—1.2 million babies annually or one abortion every 26
“The time to extend civil rights to the tiniest Americans is long
overdue,” Wildmon continued. “We must elect pro-life senators in this extremely
important mid-term election year, as well as a pro-life president in 2016.
Millions more American people are pro-life today this generation is more
pro-life than the one preceding it – thanks to ultrasound technology and the
ability to see an unborn child in the womb. It is imperative that life issues
be at the top of our legislators’ lists for issues that affect our nation.
Ending abortion must be given the utmost consideration at voting time, and we
must send pro-life lawmakers to Washington.”

American Family Association (AFA) a non-profit 501(c3) organization
was founded in 1977 by Donald E. Wildmon, who was pastoring First
United Methodist Church in Southaven, Mississippi, at the time. Since
1977, AFA has been on the frontlines of America’s culture war. The original
name of the ministry was National Federation for Decency but was changed to
American Family Association in 1988. Today, AFA is one of the largest and most
effective pro-family organizations in the country with more than one million
online supporters and approximately 180,000 paid subscribers to the AFA Journal, the ministry’s monthly magazine. In addition,
AFA owns and operates nearly 200 radio stations across the country under
the American Family Radio banner.
Other divisions of AFA include American Family Radio, the AFA Foundation
and OneNewsNow.com, an online news provider that is syndicated
around the world. AFA maintains activist web sites such as OneMillionMoms.com that rally Christian activists to
contact companies asking them to drop their advertising from objectionable TV shows.
AFA websites average over 6 million unique visitors and 44 million hits per
year. AFA uses all these means to communicate an outspoken, resolute, Christian
voice throughout America.
