American Family Association today blasted a homosexual
activist group for continuing its campaign to indoctrinate children in the nation’s public schools by convincing kids that homosexuality is a normal and healthy lifestyle.

The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) is hosting a statewide “Teach Out” conference this Saturday at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. The conference teaches public school teachers how to promote homosexuality during classroom instruction.

Last year GLSEN also co-hosted the “Teach Out” at Tufts, which generated intense controversy after it was discovered that kids as young as 14 years old were taught how to participate in homosexual sex acts - including visual “how-to” demonstrations.

GLSEN’s conference last year was co-sponsored by the Massachusetts Department of Education, and the outcry over the sexual subject matter led state officials to fire at least two instructors who participated. Pro-family groups across the nation were stunned to discover that, despite the outrage over last year’s conference, GLSEN was still going ahead with plans to have another “Teach Out” this year.

“This proves one thing - GLSEN and all those collaborating will stop at absolutely nothing to shove this lifestyle down the throats of Americans,” said AFA vice president Tim Wildmon Massachusetts Gov. Paul Cellucci, a Republican, has been instrumental in GLSEN’s success in the Bay State. According to the Boston-based Parents’ Rights Coalition, Cellucci earmarks $1.5 million a year in state taxpayer money to promote the acceptance of homosexuality in schools.

Cellucci’s promotion of the homosexual agenda is the reason that some pro-family groups, including AFA, are angry about Cellucci’s nomination by the Bush administration to the post of ambassador to Canada.

“For a supposedly conservative party like the GOP, which advertises itself as the party of family values, this nomination makes no sense,” said Wildmon. “Whatever his other qualifications, the promotion of homosexuality to our children - in complete disregard for the beliefs of parents - is an outrage. By itself, Cellucci’s complicity in this activist campaign should be grounds for disqualification for ambassadorship.”

ACTION NEEDED

It is urgent that the U.S. Senators listed below and President Bush hear from you regarding Governor Paul Cellucci's nomination as Ambassador to Canada.

Cellucci's confirmation could have highly detrimental impact all over New England as homosexual activists are now pushing legalization of "same-sex marriage" in most of the New England states. Republican state politicians would take it a clear sign that the national Republican Party and the White House see the dangerous homosexual agenda as a minor issue.

Cellucci's impact in Canada could also be very detrimental. In both Ottawa and back in Washington he may well privately portray the pro-family Canadian movement as "far right freaks" rather than as allies of the new American administration.

Over three dozen pro-family groups in the U.S. are publicly opposing Cellucci as unfit to represent the United States and as an extremely divisive and insensitive choice in the current Canadian social and political context. These include most of the major national groups and many local, grass roots groups in various states. Canadian groups are now mobilizing.
