"One Nation Under God" Print

More than a year ago Tim Wildmon, Vice President of the American Family Association, commissioned Mitchell Tolle to create a series of paintings that would blend symbols of our faith with symbols of our nation.

More than a year ago Tim Wildmon, Vice President of the American Family Association, commissioned Mitchell Tolle to create a series of paintings that would blend symbols of our faith with symbols of our nation. At the time Mitchell agreed to do the work, neither of them could have imagined the circumstances in which the first painting in that series would be unveiled to the world. Mitchell completed the painting more than a month before the attack on America.

Our forefathers carefully blended their faith into everyday life at every opportunity. They put the words, "In God we Trust" on our money, included the phrase "One Nation Under God" in our pledge to the flag, and gave us glorious songs like "God Bless America!" and "America, America, God shed his grace on thee - And crowned thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea!" It gives me goose-bumps just to think about it.

It was conceived to be an intelligent, tasteful banner telling the world our conviction that we are indeed a Nation under God. (If you'll notice, the majestic eagle in the painting soars just below the cross.) When it goes on display in your home or office, even though it is just an eagle in flight against a simple backdrop - a church steeple that could be found in almost any town in America - the message is unmistakable: We are One Nation Under God.

My hope is that millions will discover this picture, a subtle yet powerful claim to the Christian roots of our nation.

Will you get the print "One Nation Under God," and spread the word about its significance to your friends at work, in church, and throughout your community?

When your print arrives, it will include a free poster of the same image. It is designed for easy and economical "thumb-tack" display in classrooms and Sunday School rooms or anywhere you can find a place to take a stand for faith. Wouldn't it be something if this picture were to be displayed not only in your house and in your office, but in the White House, and dentist's offices, in the judge's chambers and lawyer's offices, in classrooms and break-rooms, in hospitals and post offices, in Christian schools and public schools? Why not?

My purpose in life is not merely to make pretty pictures. I want to make a difference. Will you help me by getting prints for your home and office and by spreading the word to others?
