“The ACLU isn’t going to sue. They don’t have enough integrity to sue. They are nothing but a bunch of big bullies trying to frighten schools with threats." AFA Pres. Donald E. Wildmon

The number of posters with the national motto “In God We Trust” being displayed in classrooms and other public offices is nearing a quarter-million, according to American Family Association.

Despite the threat of the American Civil Liberties Union to sue to keep the national motto from being displayed in public offices and classrooms, the movement is rapidly growing according to AFA President Donald E. Wildmon.

The posters have the national motto printed in gold letters on a background of the U.S. flag. They are displayed on the web at In God We Trust Poster Website. [ www.ingodwetrustposter.com ]

“The ACLU isn’t going to sue. They don’t have enough integrity to sue. They are nothing but a bunch of big bullies trying to frighten schools with threats,” Wildmon said. “They want to keep the posters out of schools because it has the word ‘God’ in it, but they know it is our national motto and the constitutionally has always been upheld in court,” he said.

He said the events of September 11 seemed to have increased the demand for the posters. That and the fact that the AFA Center for Law and Policy has offered to defend any school or public facility at no cost.

“Since it is now evident that the ACLU’s threats are meaningless, we expect to see an increasing number of schools displaying the poster in classrooms,” he stated. He said many churches and civic clubs are sponsoring the display of the poster in their communities.

The goal of AFA is to place a copy of the poster in every classroom in America.

ACTION NEEDED

Let's place a copy of our motto "In God We Trust" in every classroom in the country! Click here for the "In God We Trust Poster" website. For too long, groups like the ACLU and People for the American Way have used a mythical 'separation of church and state' argument to drive the knowledge of God out of our classrooms. It has been shown time and time again that faith in God was a major component in the founding of this country. And our own Congress voted in 1956 to make 'In God We Trust' our national motto.

The Mississippi legislature recently passed a law requiring each public school classroom, auditorium and cafeteria to display a copy of our national motto. AFA encourages you to forward a copy of this law to your state legislators and encourage the passage of similar legislation in your state.

One principal at a northeast Mississippi elementary school has given every child in her school a button displaying the national motto "In God We Trust." Why not purchase enough buttons to provide one for every student in your school or school district? This would be a great project for a church or civic group - Order here
