God’s glory was behind the cross - by Jeffrey L. Syrios, J.D.
Only in the inexpressible suffering of Christ could God’s splendor be sustained. The belittlement of God’s glory caused by man’s sin could only be reconciled by a matching loss of glory encompassed in Jesus’ suffering on the cross.

Hollywood’s loss, our gain - By Jeffrey L. Syrios, J.D.
There is a disconnect with Hollywood—a paradox between a lifestyle fashioned as the ultimate objective and the downfall of those who obtain it.

Jesus—Prince of World Peace? - by Jeffrey L. Syrios, J.D.
Yet, two thousand years later, the question is still important: were the angels right? Did Jesus’ birth bring peace?

Teen sex is about values not pregnancy - by Jeffrey L. Syrios, J.D.
But conduct can never dictate the standard by which conduct is measured. By passing out condoms and contraceptives, the committee validates the student’s self-destructive sexual behavior. The result is that the actions of the few diminish the standard for the many that will now lose ground in their difficult fight for abstinence.

The power of presence
Sometimes, just showing up makes a difference. Dr. Carolyn Knight from Wesley College in Florence, Mississippi, started showing up several years ago outside of strip clubs in our community to talk to patrons about the Lord. Subsequently, she and her husband spent several years serving as missionaries in Africa. Since their return to Mississippi, she has resumed her outreach ministry at the three strip clubs in the capital city, Jackson.

Blurring the message
How does one go about changing a culture? How does a society alter its course or, if it is stagnant, shake itself out of its lethargy and begin a new journey?

Shinning God's light in a pagan culture
It was a mixed bag of results for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA). The announcement by the 98-year-old organization that it would forbid local affiliates to “discriminate” against homosexual mentors for children sent shockwaves through churches and pro-family groups. For the rest of the culture, however, it was barely even a blip on the screen of important and relevant issues.

TeenPact trains youth for godly government
The young man banged the gavel and announced in a loud voice, “The ‘ayes’ have it!” As the room erupted in applause, he stepped away from the lectern and returned to his seat. The “Senate” of the State of Mississippi had just voted on and passed a legislative bill that would ban abortion in the state.

The gospel of intolerance
For most believers, the words “hateful Christian” are an oxymoron. Christians are to love, and neither their thoughts, words nor deeds are to reflect hate. Increasingly, however, Bible-believing Christians are being portrayed as hateful. In Newsweek, for example, Editor Fareed Zakaria denounced Christians in an article entitled, “Time to Take On America’s Haters.”

Society reconsiders abstinence
Surprised? In our over-sexed society, it may seem hard to believe that sexual self-restraint may be catching on again – and even more unexpected that it is catching on among a growing number of young people.

Wouldn't it be nice?
The young man was just becoming an adult. One day he sat down to visit with his grandfather. “Gramps,” the young man said, “I wish I lived in a country where we didn’t have to lock our doors and windows all the time. Where we did not have to be fearful of someone breaking into our house and harming us. Wouldn’t that be nice?”
