TVads OneMillionMoms Chafe TV Sponsors
If you are offended by trash on TV, Volkswagen says turn it off. The company’s reply was in response to a request by OneMillionMoms.com (OMM) and OneMillionDads.com (OMD), asking VW to stop sponsoring the Fox drama Boston Public. Because of the company’s unsatisfactory response, AFA is calling for a boycott of the car maker.

TELEVISION

Ellen’s Legacy
The scene seemed strangely familiar: on a Disney/ABC TV news magazine, a Hollywood actress was telling interviewer Diane Sawyer that she is a lesbian.

RELIGION

New TNIV translation plays fast and loose with God’s Word
Christian conservatives are charging the publisher of the New International Version (NIV) with what is one of the gravest of sins in the evangelical world: fiddling around with the inerrant Word of God, especially at a time when our culture is burning with the raging fire of moral relativism.

DON'S COLUMN

TV programs not alone in selling sex
So you thought TV filth was just limited to the programs. Well, if you haven’t noticed, the advertisers have decided to sell sex, not quality. Here are a few examples.

CHRISTIANS AND CULTURE
AMERICA

Half a poison pill won’t kill me
“Real love...real love…”

“I haven’t heard that song in years,” I thought to myself as I mumbled along with the lyrics. Then the oddity of the moment struck: I was standing in the middle of the frozen foods section at a local supermarket, trolling for mixed vegetables and singing harmony with the Doobie Brothers. The birthday card someone had given me was right – you know you’re getting old when you hear your favorite songs on muzak.

PRO-LIFE ISSUES

Mother and son find new life at Living Well
When Sarah* first visited the LivingWell Medical Clinic in Orange County, California, she was desperately seeking a way to avoid an abortion. Through anguish and tears, she told clinic physician Dr. Geeta Swamidass (“Dr. Geeta”) about her unplanned pregnancy and the fact that her husband John* was extremely upset.

HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA

Rosie pushes ‘gay’ agenda on ABC
In a March interview on Disney/ABC’s Primetime Thursday, popular entertainer Rosie O’Donnell said she plans to use her status as a Hollywood star to promote the homosexual agenda.

TIM'S COLUMN

Redeeming culture not contrary to sharing gospel
“When the church takes a stance that emphasizes political activism and social moralizing, it always diverts energy and resources away from evangelization,” writes popular Bible teacher Dr. John MacAurthur in his book Why Government Can’t Save You.

“No it doesn’t,” writes not-so-popular columnist Tim Wildmon in the May, 2002, issue of the AFA Journal.
