AFA initiates campaign to protect Pledge of Allegiance, national motto
AFA has launched a drive to protect the Pledge of Allegiance after a three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals declared that the words “under God” are unconstitutional.

COMMENTARY

Scars
I remember the day President John F. Kennedy was shot. I don’t remember it clearly, but dream-like, because I was only five years old.

Not yet being of school age, I was at home, and I remember the phone ringing and my mom picking it up, and breaking down in tears as my father told her the president had been assassinated, and that he was coming home from work.

PORNOGRAPHY

Wounds that never heal
Second in a series
Kat and Tom Loden had big plans. Soon he would retire from the Marines and become a gentleman farmer. She would go to law school at Ole Miss. They would build their dream house on the 175-acre farm near the rural community of Dorsey in Northeast Mississippi where Tom had grown up. Life would be idyllic at “The Refuge,” the name they had chosen for their new home.

DON'S COLUMN

UM bishop denies essential truths of gospel
My column this month deals with comments made by a United Methodist bishop. In one sense, it is reflective of only one person, the bishop. But in another sense it is reflective of many leaders in the old line denominations.

CHRISTIAN ACTIVISM

Christian activism and the law of love
For many within the Christian community, the sad state of our culture is a testimony to just how rapidly a nation can degenerate spiritually. Within the space of one generation, America has almost completely abandoned its character as a God-fearing nation which honored traditional notions of marriage, family and sexuality.

HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA

‘Such were some of you’
Silence isbroken in the dimly lit room by a ringing phone. You wearily pullyourself out of your chair, dreading the call before you even know whois on the line.

EDUCATION

Group strives to reintroduce historical and literary Bible teaching in the classroom
Washington, D.C.’s National Press Club was the setting July 25 for an important announcement that is likely to have far-reaching impact on the students attending our nation’s public schools and, perhaps, the future of America itself.

TIM'S COLUMN

Nation’s Christian heritage is evident
Twice a year Marvin Sanders, general manager of American Family Radio, and I lead people to Washington D.C., for what we call Spiritual Heritage Tours. Our next one will be September 18-21. We like to visit all the sites and memorials that make our nation’s capital one of the greatest places on earth to experience. After touring Washington on Thursday and Friday, we like to take our motorcoach down through historic Alexandria, Virginia, on Saturday morning to visit Mount Vernon, the home of George and Martha Washington.
