Partial-Birth Abortion

Partial-birth abortion is a procedure which requires a physician to extract a fetus, feet first, from the womb and through the birth canal until all but its head is exposed. Then the tips of surgical scissors are thrust into the base of the fetus' skull, and a suction catheter is inserted through the opening and the brain is removed. The procedure is used beginning at 41/2 months and continues to be used even into the ninth month of pregnancy.; American Family Association believes that partial-birth abortion is nothing more than government sponsored infanticide and should be stopped. We support legislation that would ban its use.
