America Needs True Leadership

DAILY STAND EMAIL
Friday, February 13, 2015 @ 08:30 AM America Needs True Leadership Walker Wildmon Vice President of Operations MORE

John Adams once said "I pray Heaven to bestow the best of blessing on this house (the White House) and on all that shall hereafter inhabit it. May none but honest and wise men ever rule under this roof!"

A former political strategist to President Obama, David Axelrod claims in his new book that Obama intentionally misled the American people on his view of marriage. Axelrod claims that Obama intentionally lied and supported natural marriage for political reasons. “Opposition to gay marriage was particularly strong in the black church, and as he ran for higher office, he grudgingly accepted the counsel of more pragmatic folks like me, and modified his position to support civil unions rather than marriage, which he would term a ‘sacred union,’ ” Axelrod writes. In 2004 when running for U.S. Senate Obama said, “I’m a Christian. And so, although I try not to have my religious beliefs dominate or determine my political views on this issue, I do believe that tradition, and my religious beliefs say that marriage is something sanctified between a man and a woman.” This doesn’t sound like the Barack Obama we know in 2015. What this simple fact proves is that honesty is not the rule of practice in the office of the President.

The standards and expectations of the office of the President have been diminished throughout the past six years. President Obama has turned our country in the wrong direction. With the poor precedent set by Barack Obama, America needs a fresh and bold leader.

George Washington once said, “I hope I shall possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.” Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana said in recent interviews that voters want leaders "who have the courage to speak the truth.” Much of the confusion and strife in America today is due to the lies or the suppression of truth. Proverbs 12:19 says, “Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment.” May we elect a President with a sense of dignity as we continue the fight to restore America back to its biblical foundation.
