Transgender Bathrooms: Dangerous Public Policy

DAILY STAND EMAIL
Thursday, April 21, 2016 @ 02:51 PM Transgender Bathrooms: Dangerous Public Policy Walker Wildmon Vice President of Operations MORE

To set the record straight, conservatives didn’t start this fight. The city of Charlotte did. The city council in Charlotte, NC passed a resolution which said men could go in women’s restrooms. In return, the state legislature convened in a special session and passed a state-wide law which clarified that biological men have to go to men’s restrooms and biological women have to go to women’s restrooms. Not to mention that Article VII of the North Carolina state constitution says that subjects already addressed in the state constitution cannot be regulated to the contrary by a local municipality. The area of non-discrimination policies had previously been addressed by the state legislature thus the city of Charlotte had no authority to pass this non-discrimination bathroom ordinance.

The governor of North Carolina was no fan of the Charlotte ordinance from the get-go because it could “create major public safety issues." And, the governor was correct. This ordinance would have allowed 45 year-old John to use the same bathroom as 6 year old Susie. Can you imagine taking your little girl to the bathroom and out comes a big hairy man, similar to the caveman fellow on the Geico commercials?

Thought this couldn’t get worse?  PayPal decided to enter the cultural fray choosing to condemn the North Carolina bathroom law which simply requires biology to determine which bathroom a person uses in public places. They cancelled expansion plans that would have created nearly 400 new jobs for the great state of North Carolina.

PayPal became a crusader for immorality. A company that processes online payments is getting into the bathroom business. In the ideological realm, PayPal may be grasping at some moral relativistic straw, but in the real world PayPal is leading the way for our wives and daughters to be preyed upon by those who would use the law as a legal excuse to victimize them, in the name of “equality.”

Up next is Target. Yes, the retail store is getting in the bathroom business also.

Target has announced that they will be allowing “transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity.”

Corporate America is embracing a movement that will put women and children at risk and PayPal and Target are leading the way.

According to Target’s new policy a man can be in the same restroom or changing room with my wife. I refuse to put my wife at risk so I will not be stepping foot in any Target store.

Last June when the Supreme Court ruled that same-sex “marriage” was legal across the U.S., many Christian organizations wondered where this movement would go next.  Some hoped the pressure from the LGBT activists would die down but it didn’t.  It only escalated. The legalization of same-sex “marriage” quickly moved to transgendered individuals wanting in the restrooms with people of the opposite sex. It is never enough when it comes to the LGBT movement.

The LGBT activists have descended upon these corporations and infiltrated their HR departments. Consequently, many of the CEOs are going along with this “transgender” movement without knowing the consequences. Now there are dozens of major businesses marching to the orders of the LGBT lobby.

Please join myself and the American Family Association in boycotting Target until the company decides that protecting women and children is a priority.
