We knew this was coming. The Louisiana Legislature knew this was coming. Now it’s time to act.

As expected, Gov. John Bel Edwards vetoed HB 648, which protects Louisiana children from undergoing dangerous and experimental sex-change procedures. The governor didn’t just veto the bill, though. Behind the scenes, we hear he is bullying lawmakers, threatening them with the loss of projects and money if they dare to vote against him.

In particular, the Louisiana senate needs to stand strong. Please call and email your Louisiana state senator and ask him/her to override the governor’s veto of HB 648

The Louisiana House needs calls too, but all eyes are on the senate, as the House is expected to override the governor’s veto. Rather than sign HB 648 and protect Louisiana children, Gov. Edwards has chosen to bow to pressure from radical Leftwing activists, Big Pharma lobbyists, and other vested interests.

Edwards claims Louisiana kids don’t need these safeguards. Anyone who is paying attention knows that is false. Kids are being bombarded with transgender messaging in school. Kids are being groomed when they go online. Kids are being confused and misled by the media.

HB 648 requires that a child who wants to undergo a sex-change procedure just has to wait until they are aged 18. It’s a commonsense policy that protects kids from making a hasty, irreversible decision that they will likely end up regretting for a lifetime.

The Legislature is going into a veto override session on July 18, next Tuesday. Please call and email your Louisiana state lawmakers before Tuesday and ask them to vote for the passage of HB 648.
