'Neighbors With Benefits' is Breaking Up Its Families In New Show
A & E’s new reality series “Neighbors With Benefits” is a show about neighbors and friends who attend parties as married couples for the purpose of switching spouses and what they call “playing” with one another. The premiere aired on Sunday, March 22, at 10:00 pm ET/9:00 pm CT.
This inappropriate series glamorizes adultery while making a mockery of marriage. Why get married if you do not plan on being faithful? This show is heartbreaking to watch. A&E Network is counting on controversy and drama for ratings, but 1MM finds this program sad and depressing. Some couples consist of one spouse wanting to live in this lifestyle to add excitement to their life while the other spouse is less sure but attempts to participate to keep their spouse happy and marriage together. Some couples in the group, especially new friends, may have agreed to join simply to be on TV. One or both spouses ends up extremely hurt and upset. It is apparent this isn’t working for most couples involved and has a disastrous outcome.
It is no surprise this immoral show belittles relationships, devalues unions, and degrades women. The ringleader actually tells the men at the party to “use and abuse her,” referring to his wife. Other quotes from the program include, “Once you are in the lifestyle it is hard to get out,” and “I don’t want to be in this lifestyle forever.” The jealousy, remorse, and regret is obvious and appears to grow stronger in the preview for the upcoming episode. This reality show is in the process of breaking up couples on the program and possibly influencing those watching to experiment with this lifestyle, only to find out the truth about the depressing consequences.
