In Defense of Franklin Graham's Decision

Wells Fargo has been a staunch supporter of homosexual marriage for over a decade. Recently, they released a commercial of two lesbians adopting a little girl. As a result, Franklin Graham came out and announced he and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association will no longer be doing business with Wells Fargo because of their strong support of "a godless lifestyle."

Graham’s actions drew quick criticism from the mainstream media. One headline I read was “After boycott, Franklin Graham moves bank accounts from one LGBT-friendly bank to another one.” This headline shows how the media doesn’t care about the issue at hand but rather is consumed with micro-criticism of any Christian who takes a stand.

This headline is referring to Franklin Graham withdrawing business from Wells Fargo then opening an account at BB&T bank which as the media claims is a “LGBT-Friendly” bank also. This is not exactly the case. Wells Fargo has been funneling the homosexual agenda down the throats of consumers for decades. Wells Fargo has basically centered all of its business and focus to just 2% of the population in hopes of being inclusive while they exclude all Bible believing Christians by promoting a sinful lifestyle. For example, for 11 straight years Wells Fargo has been named “Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.” So much for inclusion. Everyone who believes in natural marriage is in fact pushed to the way side as Wells Fargo caters to homosexual demands.

As I researched BB&T bank all I could find was one story of a local branch in Miami hosting a Miami Beach Gay Pride Fundraiser to honor two gay couples. So what the media is having a frenzy over is one local branch out of 1,824 financial centers in 12 states. Is it fair to say BB&T is an overall “LGBT-Friendly” bank? Absolutely not. One branch hosted an event for a local gay group and I am not aware of BB&T sponsoring any other LGBT events.

On the other hand Wells Fargo is operating a financial institution that its sole purpose is to cheer on the devious lifestyle of homosexuality and encourage two lesbians to adopt. Research has shown that two parents of the same sex is unstable for the child. Yet, Wells Fargo is investing thousands and possibly millions of dollars centering their advertising on lesbians. BB&T released a statement regarding these “LGBT-Friendly” allegations and said “we do not take formal positions on non-banking or social issues.” It is clear the bank is not a nation-wide advocate for LGBT rights as Wells Fargo clearly is.

This error on behalf of the mainstream media just simply screams “ignorance.” The low-information media likes to leave out key details that disprove their narrative. Now that I have cleared the confusion created by progressive zealots in the media we can focus on the main issue. Franklin Graham is switching banks because Wells Fargo is a staunch supporter of sin and more specifically the homosexual lifestyle. BB&T on the other hand has chosen to stay out of the culture war and not endorse any side of social issues. I would say kudos to Franklin Graham for taking a bold stand and moving to different bank that is neutral when it comes to social issues.
