If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. Mark 3:24-25
Prophetic words spoken by Jesus of Nazareth. Looking at recent events, some would ask, was He talking about America? No, but He may as well have been. With the exception of the early 1860’s, I don’t think this country has ever been more divided.
In today’s America, we have lost our minds. Yesterday, the ninth Planned Parenthood video became public. More soulless talk of chopping up baby parts, this time, a whole baby for money. The media, once the bastion of freedom that would speak truth to power, continues to submit to a false narrative that is dictated to them from on high. They refuse to confront the fact that these are human beings in the video. They hide behind the lie that the videos are “edited.” The video where the tech picks the child’s arm up is pretty clear. You can’t edit that out of your mind, trust me, I’ve tried. Yet, churches around the country sit idly on their hands. Most pastors refuse to even mention it. Some have gone as far as to say they “don’t want to deal with that issue.” Three thousand more children will be killed today because some don’t want to deal with it.
Last week, a TV crew was filming a fluff piece in Virginia. A racist, deranged former employee walked up to the crew and opened fire. The reporter and cameraman were both killed. The murderer went as far as sending his manifesto to ABC. Instead of releasing the manifesto, which calls for a race war, ABC has buried it. However, when Dylann Roof murdered nine people in South Carolina, the media ran to publish every word of his. What is different in this case? Saturday night, a Texas deputy was putting gas in his car at a gas station. A deranged murderer, walks up from behind because cowards shoot people from behind and shoots the deputy 15 times. Does the media cover the details? No, they say that guns are the problem. We should remove all guns. They refuse to acknowledge that evil is committed in the heart. Cain killed Abel with a rock.
To be honest, I could bash the president. I’m certainly not in his fan club. I truly believe that he has done far more damage than good for this country. The mere fact that some reading this will call me a racist, just because I disagree with what the president does is proof enough of that fact. We have lost sight in this country of truth. Both sides cling to their own version of the truth. Disagreement is anathema.
Here’s my manifesto: #blacklivesmatter, #bluelivesmatter, #unbornlivesmatter, #gaylivesmatter, #Christianlivesmatter. All life matters. I’ll say that again, ALL LIFE MATTERS. It matters because God says it matters. It matters because God’s Son gave His life, so that you can live. This is what Jesus says about life, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full (John 10:10)” Jesus believed in life, both here on earth, and in the Kingdom to come.
We have lost sight of the fact that life matters. You can’t blame a gun for that, any more than you can blame a fork for making you fat. Ban all the forks, and there will be no more fat people! Who really thinks that would work?
So what is one Christian to do in all this turmoil? All you can do is continue to tell people about Jesus. You can live your life to reflect Him so that others might see Him. Christians have the message that this country needs. It’s not immigration reform, it’s not gun control, and it’s not a $15 dollar minimum wage. What this country needs is the message of Jesus Christ.
A lot of Christians have given up the fight and are waiting on death or rapture. Christ never called on you to do that. He called on you to run to the darkness, confront it, and bring all those who would repent back with you. If you have your recliner kicked back and are reading a devotional trying to stay out of the fray, you may want to reevaluate your life.
