Abortion: Butterflies or Butchery?

The abortion industry is grasping to maintain its hold on the American people. It’s taken quite a blow over recent years with the undercover videos by Center for Medical Progress revealing Planned Parenthood’s illegal practice of profiting from the sale of baby body parts.

For many who were willing to watch the videos, the most startling, impactful revelation was perhaps the obvious, cruel disregard for the lives of innocent, human beings. Planned Parenthood employees and others callously dissected tiny babies as if they were frogs in a high school biology class. The ripped-apart components of their bodies were picked apart for valuable treasures – hearts, lungs, livers.

The reality of abortion is to be unseen…unknown. Powers-that-be are working harder than ever to ensure it.

David Daleiden, the investigator responsible for the undercover videos, along with his attorneys, has been fined $200,000 for continuing to release footage after an unconstitutional gag order prohibited him from sharing the videos with anyone, including law enforcement.

Of course, those who were involved with the case and arranged for the gag order are documented supporters of Planned Parenthood. Judge William Orrick III helped open a Planned Parenthood facility, attorney general, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), ran for office on a pro-abortion platform, and attorney general Xavier Becerra received campaign contributions from the murderous organization.

Of utmost importance to the continued survival and prosperity of the abortion industry is the silencing of truth. The mission is taken seriously by those who receive the benefit of the power the industry wields – no telling how far reaching that is!

The abortion industry’s strategy is clearly to make it all about the women while disregarding entirely the babies whose lives are being extinguished. Marketing schemes employ words like “soft,” “caring,” “compassionate.”

For example, just last week, I read about a new abortion tool called SofTouch®. A Harvard-trained physician invented the instrument of death that ends the life of an in utero child in just 3 to 5 minutes.

Oh the marketing! According to the website promoting their abortion services, “This noninvasive method involves a small, hand-held device that quietly brings a natural release of your menstrual flow.”

What they mean is, “You don’t have to listen to the disturbingly loud vacuum that destroys your baby by tearing him or her to pieces while being sucked through an instrument the size of a straw. We’ll do it manually so the noise isn’t so upsetting.”

This is essentially the difference in using an electric breast pump versus a manual breast pump. The end result is still milk – milk that nourishes a baby.

Whether a surgical abortion is obtained or the manual vacuum aspiration method (Softouch) is used, the result is still a dead baby – and in the end, a traumatized mother. She can believe the lies and lie to herself for only so long.

Then of course, there’s RU486, the abortion pill. It’s also called a “medical abortion.” So simple – just take a pill and poof, you won’t be pregnant anymore! Well, pregnancy is more than a blue or pink line on a pregnancy test.

One woman who attended a post-abortion recovery group I facilitated several years ago told her own painful story of what a medical abortion encompassed. It was no simple process. It wasn’t clean, and it wasn’t easy. Tears streamed down the faces of everyone at the table as she quietly, slowly pushed out each labored breath and word until she reached the climactic end when she saw her dead baby in the toilet.

The abortion industry works to convince women and the public that abortion is harmless, simple, and even a positive experience. Its mouth is filled with lies.

Since the title “Father or Lies” is already taken by Satan himself, perhaps the abortion industry should receive the title “Mother of Lies.”
