Congress Drops Plans To Draft Women…and Other Victories

DAILY STAND EMAIL
Tuesday, December 14, 2021 @ 07:38 AM Congress Drops Plans To Draft Women…and Other Victories Tim Wildmon President MORE

After the House of Representatives passed the Democrats' National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which included forcing women 18-25 years old to register for the military draft, the Senate took up the bill.

In response to our AFA Action Alert, an overwhelming 76,836 emails flooded senators with a single, unified message: Don’t draft our daughters!

Enough senators were influenced by you and AFA to recognize that drafting young women is unnecessary, dangerous, and would weaken the military’s readiness, lethality, and unit cohesion.

In the final version of the NDAA, the Senate Armed Services committee removed the provision from the bill. This victory is a testament to the difference that can be made when we work together.

FCC radical nomination is now in doubt
President Biden's nomination to chair the Federal Communications Commission is now under fire after senators received 65,730 emails opposing liberal Gigi Sohn.

Sohn has made radical comments about free speech, characterizing conservative-leaning Fox New as "state-sponsored propaganda." If approved, Sohn could use her position to apply the same liberal ideology against news outlets like American Family Radio and American Family News for expressing its biblical views on marriage and human sexuality.

After getting pressure from Republican senators, Sohn's nomination is in "scramble" mode. If you haven't taken action on this issue yet, please contact your Senators today, urging them to oppose Sohn's confirmation.

OSHA vaccine mandate comment period ended on a high note
Although President Biden's vaccine mandate has been halted by several courts, the proposal still received a huge negative response from AFA supporters.

In order to force Americans to take the Covid-19 shot, President Biden had directed the Occupational Health and Safety Administration to issue an emergency rule for any company that employs more than 100 people.

When the 30-day public comment period ended on December 6, over 44,557 AFA supporters had filed opposition to the unlawful mandate. We believe your actions will be critical to stopping the government from over-stepping its authority.

These are just a few of the issues that AFA is working on and I wanted to give you an update.

I praise God for your faithfulness and willingness to get involved. Together, and with God's help, we are making a difference.
