Christmas is always nostalgic to me. No matter how old I am, I will always recall a warm and fuzzy moment from past Christmases. Over the last few weeks, I’ve recalled some of my favorite family celebrations.

One thing that never changed was the time and place we celebrated. Every Christmas Eve, my mom would cook a big meal, and we kiddos would gather around the tree in eager expectation. Usually, my younger (and only) brother would dole out the gifts, and we would open them one by one, youngest to oldest.

For many years, my younger sister and I would ask for an American Girl (AG) doll. They were $100 ($141 today) a piece! So we knew that if we ever wanted to collect all the dolls, we would have to conquer that goal together. So, year after year, we would sit and strategically decide which doll to choose.

The dolls represented a different time in history, each with its own story. One of my favorites was Kit Kitteridge. She was from 1934 and a child of the Great Depression. It was always fascinating that even though she lived in a rough time of history, Kit had grit, spunk, and a can-do attitude.

Yep, Kit was my girl.

And when my sister and I grew out of the AG phase, we had 10 of their historical dolls, several Bitty Babies (baby dolls), and a few “Girl of the Year” dolls. Not to mention extra accessories that sold for $50+ a pop!

Suffice it to say, my parents spent much of their hard-earned money on the AG franchise for our Christmas and birthday gifts. But we loved it! And they loved that we were learning about historical moments from these toys.

But, alas, in recent weeks, a headline stood out. It read: “American Girl wants to trans your daughter.”

My heart sank.

This company that my family had loved so much had joined other once family-friendly companies and succumbed to the Left’s wokeness.

Last year, the company started its downward spiral when its “2021 Girl of the Year” story mentioned that the character had traveled to Australia to visit her two great aunts – a lesbian couple. But no, that wasn’t enough for the American Girl company. Now they are telling children that you don’t have to be a biological girl to be a girl!  

On top of its historical book series, AG has also published multiple books designed to help young girls navigate growing up and the changes that come with it. But in recent years, they have developed a new series entitled “A Smart Girl’s Guide.”

Now, these small advice-filled books focus on topics ranging from anxiety, how to handle the stress of homework, cooking, organization, and more. But it is their most recent guide, Body Image: how to love yourself, live life to the fullest, and celebrate all kinds of bodies, that makes my stomach turn.

When a parent spots this book on the store shelf, it may seem innocent. They may notice its bright cover and cartoon drawings of girls with different body types. But within those pages lies the Left’s repulsive indoctrination.

According to Fox News, the author, Mel Hammond, included the following sentences as well as pages dedicated to transgenderism.

 “If you haven't gone through puberty yet, the doctor might offer medicine to delay your body's changes, giving you more time to think about your gender identity.”

Another page reads,

“If you don’t have an adult you trust, there are organizations across the country that can help you. Turn to the resources on page 95 for more information.”

Daily Mail also included screenshots of the book.

The pictures reveal a quote from famed transgender and TLC reality star Jazz Jennings. Jennings was 6-years-old when he began transitioning. (Just in case you wanted to know how old they want these kids to start considering turning trans) At 18, Jennings partook in gender reassignment surgery.

So here we are. A company that used to pride itself on empowering girls through historical (fictional) characters is now telling girls ages 3-12 to talk to their doctors about switching their sex. Not only that, they are encouraging them to turn to other organizations behind their parents’ backs!

It’s vile, disgusting, and a little bit absurd.

It is also worth noting that AG is owned by the toy company Mattel – which sells the Barbie franchise. And while we’re on this topic, isn’t it interesting that earlier this year, Barbie released its first transgender doll? The doll was modeled after Laverne Cox. According to the Mattel website, Cox is “… a four-time Emmy-nominated actress, Emmy-winning producer, and the first transgender woman of color to have a leading role on a scripted TV show….” 

How special! A boy doll dressed in a dress for little girls to play with everywhere. 

And to tell you the whole truth, it is absolutely heartbreaking to me to think that it is no longer “cool” to be a girl. Sure, it’s awkward at times. And yeah, we’re not always going to love those zits on our faces. But never in my life did those moments make me think that I was supposed to be a boy! 

Now, toy companies are telling little girls who don’t know how to be confident in their own skin that maybe they’re better off being boys.

Satan isn’t telling girls that they aren’t pretty enough anymore. No, he’s telling them that they must mutilate their bodies and cause irreversible damage to fit in. And what’s worse is that he’s succeeding at it.

Gone are the days of twirling in princess gowns, holding girl dolls, and celebrating being a woman. Now, even boys can do that.

But we can change that.

We, as women, have the unique power as mothers, daughters, granddaughters, and sisters that go against the Left’s agenda. We can band together and remind women of all ages just how special our “gender” is. Let us hold fast and refuse to let indoctrination enter our homes. Let’s teach them about the intrinsic beauty and power that comes from being a woman. We can and will teach them to believe that they are fearfully and wonderfully made!
