Ocean Spray launched its 2025 holiday ad campaign, “Just Add Cran, Beware of Cranpus,” starring Bryan Cranston as a demonic figure marketing all things cranberry. Ocean Spray relies heavily on sales during the holiday season between Thanksgiving and Christmas; this year, it is relying on an original character, the anti-Santa “Cranpus.” The new satanic ad campaign, which consists of television commercials and social media marketing, reminds us that cranberries are an essential staple of the holiday season.
Cranston is featured as Santa’s cranberry-stealing counterpart, “Cranpus.” No holiday table is safe from the half-man, half-goat creature’s obsession with Ocean Spray’s product line of cranberry sauce, Craisins, and cranberry juice.
With goat-like horns and claws, “Cranpus” is based on Krampus, the demonic mythical creature from European folklore that joins Saint Nicholas on his annual stops and punishes badly-behaved children.
Ocean Spray suggests the ad leans into humor, wit, and storytelling for the holiday season. Young children will find the anti-Santa figure extremely frightening as it resembles the devil – this is not humorous.
Ocean Spray ads are the last place parents would expect their children to be exposed to dark content regarding a devilish creature. This is unnecessary, especially in ads for the holiday season.
Christian families need to urge Ocean Spray to exclude satanic images from their advertising.
If you agree that this dismal and dreary marketing campaign is inappropriate, please sign our petition urging Ocean Spray to cancel this satanic “Cranpus” campaign immediately.
