“Put your money where your mouth is.”
According to an article on Writing Explained, this saying, or one similar to it, has been around since the 1930s or 1940s, and most of us have heard it more than once. It means that if you’re going to do something, you’d better fully support it. I think it can refer to standing up for what is right, or it could quite literally mean no longer spending money on items that aren’t aligned with your beliefs. For this blog, it will be the latter.
Recently, I found myself facing a question about how I spent my and my husband’s hard-earned money. Last week, I found myself scrolling through my social media pages after the baby went to sleep. As I looked online, I was shocked to see that a baby product brand I have used since our son arrived, Frida Baby, was making headlines.
When I saw the logo on the page, I quickly recalled how many of their products I had on hand, including a humidifier, a thermometer, a bathtub, and more. This company also has a sister brand, Frida Mom, which carries products for postpartum moms that I have also purchased. I have enjoyed all of these products so well that I have even bought them as gifts and recommended them to many friends and family.
That will no longer be the case.
In a viral post, a social media user shared multiple pictures of Frida Baby’s products and their packaging.
The findings were beyond disturbing. So much so that in an article the New York Post has also shared images of some of these troubling marketing ploys.
Here are a few of the phrases written on the sides of product boxes and some product instructions inside them:
Unfortunately, the sexual innuendoes didn’t stop there. In fact, they got worse.
On one of the company’s social media pages, their captions were horrendous, graphic, and explicit. Here are a few examples:
My stomach instantly sank.
Like many other troubled moms, I had never looked closely at the box or their marketing strategies! After all, when you’ve got a baby with a fever, is checking for a sexual innuendo the first thing that crosses your mind? Absolutely not!
Since the company has been in the spotlight, many of these posts mentioned above have been deleted or edited. However, the company’s most recent post actually shows bare breasts and Mardi Gras beads along with the saying “Boobs everyone loves to see them.”
This company, which produces baby products, has filled its packaging and started marketing its products with adult-sex-filled innuendos that would make a sailor blush.
I could hardly believe it!
Today, we live in a world where children are abused, raped, and so much worse.
Rainn reported that, “2009-2013: Child protective services substantiated or found strong evidence that 63,000 children a year were sexually abused.” The anti-sexual violence organization also shared that, “An estimated 423,020 people age 12+ experience sexual violence each year in the U.S.”
Yet, in 2026, we have a baby company joking about threesomes? Quickies? Adult toys?
It is disgusting!
Pro-life activist Lila Rose posted on her X profile, calling for a boycott of the brand – and I couldn’t agree more.
Sexualizing children will never be okay, and this company needs to be held accountable for its marketing actions. If they are brave enough to post and put these sayings on packaging, I can only imagine what their conversations are like behind closed doors.
Thankfully, there are others who can make a difference in this situation: bold moms and dads.
This mess has reminded me, as a tired, God-loving mom, how important it is to check into everything that we purchase.
In a perfect world, I don’t think we would have to worry about newborns being sexualized. But we live in a fallen world. And in that world, we must take every precaution to protect every child.
It’s time to remember to put your money where your mouth is.
