Keeping Christ in Christmas

From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.  No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us  (John 1:16-18 NLT).

Merry Christmas!  My wish for each of you is to know the true meaning of CHRISTmas. It's not about getting or giving stuff, it is about God coming into this world, to save us from ourselves. Thanks be to God.

May God richly bless each of you and His name be glorified.

Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight.
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia,
Christ the Savior is born!
Christ the Savior is born

Silent night, holy night!
Son of God love's pure light.
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth

TUESDAY

God Came - Let the Celebration Begin !

“Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased”
 (Luke 2:13-14 NLT).

God came into the world, not as a ruler but as a baby. He came for His ultimate plan, to save us from ourselves.

Lord God, thank You for coming into this world to save us from our sin and our brokenness. We praise You name. Our Savior is with us, Emmanuel. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

He Lives in Us

“And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us. Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God”  (1 John 4:13-15 NLT).

The real question is, do we live in Him?  Jesus has done His part in our lives. Are we living a life with Him as Lord of all?  Thank You, Lord for loving us so much that You saved us from ourselves.

Father, help us to live more like Jesus today than we did yesterday. Lead us by our hand, guide us by Your staff and correct us by Your rod. In Your name, we pray, Amen.

THURSDAY

Ever Present Darkness

“Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life”  (John 8:12 NLT).

When you are driving into the darkness of night, what do you do?  Don't you reach up and turn on your headlights?

As you walk into the darkness of this broken world, what do you do?  Shouldn't you turn to the amazing light of Jesus?

Lord God, let Your light shine so that we might see our path. Help us to choose Your path and help us stay out of the ditches and weeds on the side of the road. We ask in the mighty name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

FRIDAY

Just as We Are Told

“The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them”  (Luke 2:20 NLT).

God's word and truth are perfect. What God tells us is true, and you can put your total trust in that fact. Everything that the angel told the shepherds when they went to Bethlehem, was perfect and true. We too can put our faith and trust in His word. It is as He says.  Thanks be to God!

Lord, thank You for Your truth. Your words are the words that we can totally trust. We praise Your holy name, Amen.

SATURDAY

The Greatest Gift

For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people  (Titus 2:11 NLT).

Just over 2000 years ago, God gave us the greatest gift of all time. It's a free gift to us, but was so very costly to Him. Thanks be to God, as His plan is perfect.

Dear Father, thank You! Amen and Amen!

SUNDAY

God Spoke to and Through His Prophet Isaiah

For a child is born to us,

a son is given to us.

The government will rest on his shoulders.

    And he will be called:

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

His government and its peace

    will never end.

He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David

    for all eternity.

The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies

will make this happen!  Isaiah 9:6-7 (NLT).

God revealed the coming of Christ to the prophet Isaiah around 700 years before the birth of our Lord and Savior. Some say this is amazing, I say, no, It's God and His love for His people. The truly amazing thing is that He could love us so much that He would provide a way for each of us to enter into His presence.

Thank You Lord God, for Your Son, Jesus Christ. Without Him, we would never be able to stand in Your presence. Through Jesus, we are made righteous. Your plan, Father God, is amazing and You are truly worth our worship and deserve our praise. I pray that many will discover the saving grace of Jesus Christ, during this Christmas season. I ask and pray in His mighty name. Amen.
