God's Mercy

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it (Ephesians 2:8-9 NLT).

I thank God that His people unite together for the good of others. We are our brother's keeper.

We share Christ's free gift of salvation with our friends and family so that they may trust in Him, as we do.

Thank you, God, for never giving up on us, so that we might bring others into Your Kingdom. Amen.

Tuesday

Our Home

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world (John 16:33 NLT).

Yeah, I know we must live, work, and survive in this world, but we are really only visitors. Our eternity is in heaven. That is our real home. That is our destination. No, we are in no hurry to get there, but God's promise to His children is right, dependable, and true. The key to securing our heavenly home is to accept Jesus, repent, and follow Him. Thanks be to God.

So fight with this world, live and enjoy Gods gifts and when you hit those gravel roads and stumble into the wilderness, just remember, God is with you. He will bring you through these trials and troubles. The fire of life's trouble will draw you closer to Him.

Lord God, draw us closer to You and let us know that You are with us through the trials and tribulations. I ask and pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Wednesday

Who or What Is In Control?

Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God (Romans 8:5-8 NLT).

What is in control of your life? What is getting between you and God? The sin of idolatry is a huge culprit. Also, sexual immorality is destroying lives along with many other sins.

Folks, we are what we let control us. If we live in unrepentant sin, we become sin incarnate. The Devil is a tricky, sneaky, liar. He is wreaking havoc on our world.

My point is, obey God and follow Jesus. If you have a question about sin is in your life, compare what the world says versus what God says. We should always choose God's word over the world's, every time.

Lord, help us to let You have full control of our lives. Help us to denounce Satan and take up Your cross and follow You. Father God, thank You for loving us. We pray in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Thursday

Darkness Is Overshadowed

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it (John 1:5 NLT).

No matter how this broken world tries to silence God and His Word - it will not extinguish the Light of Christ!

Dear Lord, let Your light shine brightly! Amen.

Friday

The Importance of the Gospel

I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life (John 5:24 NLT).

Friends, it's never been more important, to share the gospel, than now. If your loved ones and friends don't know Jesus as their Savior, today is the day that you must come out of your comfort zone and ask them about their beliefs or lack thereof. Just tell them your story of what God has done in your life. You don't have to preach or be adversarial. Just tell them the simple short story of what Jesus has done for you.

This is probably the most important thing that you will ever do, outside of accepting Christ for yourself. This our Christian duty, to share Jesus with others. This duty brings great rewards in this life and for eternity.

Father God, thank You! Thank you for stepping down from heaven to surrender Yourself for our salvation. Help each of Your followers to be emboldened by the gospel and be willing to go and tell others what You did for them. Lead us to those who need to see Your work of salvation so that they might experience Your love, mercy, and grace. We come to you in prayer and praise in the name of our king, Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Saturday

God Is In Control

Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things (Ecclesiastes 11:5 NLT).

Sometimes I must stop and say, "I don't have this" or "I don't know how this is ever gonna work out" or "I can't," but then I remember - God can!

I'm not always the man He called me to be. I mess up on a regular basis, but God can redeem things for His glory.

Brothers and sisters, we are all broken humans. We are in constant need of a Savior. Trust in God and repent. He is faithful. No matter what you might be dealing with, when you come to true repentance, He forgives our transgressions. His Word never returns void.

Lord God, if someone is reading this and needs to find the right roadway for life (present life and eternal life), please open their hearts to come to You for help and direction. You tell us to come as we are, but You also tell us that You will never leave us as we are. We praise You, Lord God, for You are our King and our Savior and or God. It is in the mighty name of Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Sunday

Burdens of Life

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light" (Matthew 11:28-30 NLT).

I know that a lot of people are struggling. Many who read my posts are in need of relief from their burdens. I know that many are fighting health issues, family issues, facing spousal issues, and are dealing with the loss of a loved one. There are many people facing drug and alcohol problems. Many are fighting the temptations of the flesh. It seems that the Devil knows his time is short. He is running wide-open dragging people from the light of Christ and into his darkness. The sad part is that many are giving into the Devil's lure and walking away from Jesus.

If you are thinking about looking for an easier way to relieve your life's burdens, walking away from Christ is going 180 degrees in the wrong direction. Satan only destroys through lies and deception, then he kills your soul. Satan comes in many forms, beware.

So what is the answer to solving your life's burdens? The only true relief comes from the one true God and His Son. Jesus speaks directly to this in today's Scripture from Matthew 11:28-30.

Please, friends, don't turn away from the One who can give you peace. He is waiting to carry you through your trouble. He will never leave or forsake you. Don't leave and forsake Him.

Today, Lord we bring our burdens to You. Jesus, we call out in Your mighty name to bind Satan's hands from our lives. We pray for relief from the trials and tribulations that we are enduring. We pray that You will grant us peace and comfort in our time of loss and in our time of pain. Lord God, we can't do, this thing called life without You. You are our Rock and foundation, Lord. We ask for Your mighty hand of salvation for those who are lost and drifting into dangerous waters. We ask that You, Lord, help us to be better Christ followers and pray that You will be able to use each of us for Your glory, not ours. Lord, steady us when we are wobbly, be our support when we stumble, pick us up when we fall, and carry us when we can't go another step. Lord God, we praise Your holy name. Lead us and direct us, today and every day, in Your path of righteousness. We ask and pray in the only name that saves, Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.
