Our Duty And Privilege

The Apostle Paul speaking:
I never shrank back from telling you what you needed to hear, either publicly or in your homes.  I have had one message for Jews and Greeks alike—the necessity of repenting from sin and turning to God, and of having faith in our Lord Jesus (Acts 20:20, 21 NLT).

We, as Christians, should never be afraid to share the love of Jesus with others.  We should never shy away from asking someone if Jesus is their Savior.  How will they know Him, without being told about Him.  Many people have not heard about Jesus and His amazing grace of salvation.  Also, don't think that just because someone goes to church that they are saved by the power and blood of Jesus.  They might have "head knowledge" but not "heart knowledge".  Don't let an opportunity pass you by, share what Jesus did for you.  His mercy, grace, and love, trumps all other issues.

Dear Lord, help us to understand it is our duty as Christ followers to share the Gospel with this lost and dying world.  Also, help us to realize what a privilege it is to be called to go and make disciples so that Your kingdom expands.  Thank You Jesus for Your gift of salvation and eternal life.  I praise your name, Lord Jesus.  In Your mighty name I pray, Amen.

Tuesday

At The Foot of the Cross

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you.  Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light” (Matthew 11:28-30 NLT).

Are you tired?  Is your plate full of problems, anxiety, and sadness?  Have you just about given up?  Is work demanding more than you can give?  Are you struggling financially or in relationships?

You know folks, this is part of the world we live in.  Sometimes it's hard.  It seems many times that the best we can do just isn't good enough.

There is an answer, that answer is bringing all your troubles, frustrations, problems, needs and uneasiness to Jesus.  When we lay our brokenness at the foot of the cross, we can find relief from the problems in life, focusing on the One that is the answer, The Comforter and our King.

Jesus says it best (as He always does) in today's Scripture.  Thank You, Lord, for Your amazing grace.

Father God, open our eyes that we might see You.  Clear our minds that we might understand Your love.  Break open our heart that we might feel Your presence.  Lead us into the peace that only You offer.  Help us to take rest in Your amazing arms.  Give us comfort in our time of need.  May we trust You fully today in all of our life disasters.  May we lay all of our burdens at the foot of the Cross.  We praise Your amazing name, Lord Jesus.  Amen.

Wednesday

The Battle for Peace

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you” (Isaiah 26:3 NLT).

It seems that many people that I meet and talk with, are struggling with not having peace in their lives.  They fight that anxiety in a daily battle.

Folks, the battle has already been won by the life, death, and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Put your faith and trust in Him and you will find the peace that you are craving.

Lord God, grant all that read this the inner peace that only You can provide.  Lord, I pray that many people will search for You and find the peace that they so desire.  Lord God, You are sufficient for all of our needs, let us have the faith to totally trust in You.  It's in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray.  Amen.

Thursday

Trials and Tribulations

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries.  Today’s trouble is enough for today (Matthew 6:27, 34 NLT).

STOP WORRYING!  It will never help any situation.  It can only create more problems and frustrations.  Can all our worries add a single moment to our lives or change a single thing?

Dear Lord, We lay our trials, troubles, and tribulations at Your feet.  Take them Lord and do what You will.  We pray for peace and comfort as You lead us through the “valley”.  In Jesus' mighty name we ask and pray.  Amen.

Friday

Wisdom for Life

A good reputation is more valuable than costly perfume.  And the day you die is better than the day you are born (Ecclesiastes 7:1 NLT).

Do we realize how important our reputation is for us?  We can have many things in life but a good reputation will go before us and will linger after we leave.

Another question for each of us is: Are you living your life realizing that there is much more after our time on earth is done?  Are you wrapping your arms around the Greatest Gift ever given, Jesus Christ?

Just a couple of quick questions/statements today.  I praise God today and always because, without Him, I would still be wandering around in the wilderness.

Thank You, Lord, for blessing us beyond our ability to understand.  Amen.

Saturday

Helpless

When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.  (Romans 5:6 NLT)

--That is not the end of the story--

But very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared.  They found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance.  So they went in, but they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus.  As they stood there puzzled, two men suddenly appeared to them, clothed in dazzling robes.  The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground.  Then the men asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive?  He isn’t here!  He is risen from the dead!  Remember what he told you back in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and that he would rise again on the third day” (Luke 24:1-7).

He Is Risen!  He Is Risen, Indeed!!!!

Thank you Jesus for dying for our sin and praise be to God for His perfect plan of resurrection.  Amen!!!

Sunday

Our Firm Belief

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see (Hebrews 11:1 NLT).

Faith – (defined) firm belief in something for which there is no proof.

I can't help you with this.  Our faith is a personal walk with God and that He is God.

Faith is putting our trust and hope in God without any tangible proof that He is there.  Stepping out on faith is a scary thing until we take that step, then we realize there is a God and He is our God.  He will never leave us or forsake us.

Lord God, thank You for loving us when we are so unlovable.  Thank You for not giving up on any of us.  Thank You, Lord, for your love, mercy, and grace.  Thank You for coming to us as we are, and not leaving us as we are.  We praise You Lord!  Amen.
