Triumph over Sin, Condemnation, and Death

And the result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin.  For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins.  For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many.  But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.
Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone (Romans 5:16-18 NLT).

There is but one Way to escape a life of sin.  Jesus Christ.

There is only one Way to avoid condemnation.  Jesus Christ.

There is only one Way to secure everlasting life in heaven.  Jesus Christ.

One Way, one Truth, one Light (John 14:6 NLT) and it's your decision.  Choose wisely.  Your decision has eternal consequences.

Thank You Father God for Your love, mercy, and grace.  In the mighty name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit we pray.  Amen.

Tuesday

Equipped

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV)

God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.  That has been said by many people for years, and it's so true.  Through the Holy Spirit, God instructs us and directs our path.  We are equipped, not by what we can do, but what God can and will do through us.

I encourage everyone to sit down with the Bible, and ask the Holy Spirit to direct your reading and understanding of the Word.  It is amazing what God will show you as you read.  You might even be reading the same passage that you have read many times. And now God will give you another point He wants you to see from it.

God's word is referred to as “the living Word.”  It's an accurate statement.  God's word never changes.  His Word, being the Living Word, will direct your thoughts and understanding to a new level as you ask the Holy Spirit to lead and direct you as you read.  His word is alive.

Thank You Lord for not only giving us a Road Map for life, but giving us Your Guide to lead us in our understanding.  The Holy Bible is as true today as it was when it was written.  Amen.

Wednesday

Turmoil and Peace

(Jesus speaking)
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me.  Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows.  But take heart, because I have overcome the world” (John 16:33 NLT).

Our lives, at times, have a lot of turmoil and heartbreak.  It's part of this broken world.  I use an old military term, "it is what it is,” when dealing with life issues.

That said, we can also look at Jesus and say "He is what He is"!!!!  He is the Son of God.  He is our Savior.  He is our Lord.  He is our Rock.  He is our Foundation.  There is no other way to the Father except through Him.  Jesus is…

Thank You Lord for loving us.  Amen.

Thursday

Salvation

“For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, ‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’ There is salvation in no one else God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:11-12 NLT).

We cannot save ourselves – no matter how good we are.  Only Jesus.

Father God, thank You for saving us from ourselves.  Let us remember Your grace today and every day.  Without faith and Your grace (Hebrews 12:2 NLT) we would be doomed to eternal separation from You and everything good.  We praise Your mighty name and give thanks and pray in the mighty name of our Savior, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Friday

Unleashing God's Plan

For we are God’s masterpiece.  He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago (Ephesians 2:10 NLT).

Not only did God save us from eternal hell by sending His Son on a rescue mission, but God has a plan for each of us.  That plan can only be unleashed by Christ Jesus living in our hearts.

Are you ready to be the masterpiece God created you to be?

Father God, sometimes we don't see ourselves as a masterpiece.  A lot of the time we see ourselves as fallen, broken creatures, just existing and walking through life.  Lord God, open the hearts and the minds of Your children so that we will see the masterpiece that You have created.  Give us the faith that we need to be totally dependent on You, Lord.  Help us, Lord, to trust in You through the tough times.  Father God, pick us up when we have fallen down, lead us when we are blind, help us when we feel helpless.  Lord, we give our lives to You.  Do what you will with us and lead us down Your path of righteousness.

Father God we ask for Your will, nothing more; nothing less; nothing else.  We ask in the mighty and matchless name of Your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Saturday

We are Backsliders by Nature

So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it (Hebrews 2:1 NLT).

We must guard against sliding back into our old ways.  It's very easy to do.  Ole Satan does all he can to tempt us to do that backslide to disaster.  He loves to see a man or woman fall back into his grasp.

Put on the armor of God and study His word (Ephesians 6:10-18 NLT).  Remain in Him, and He will remain in you.

God's word is truth.  Depend on it.  Do not depend on man’s opinions.  Thanks be to God.  He has provided the true and only path, Jesus Christ.

Father, pull us back into Your full grasp.  We ask in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Sunday

Choose the Light

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world.  If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life” (John 8:12 NLT).

I ask each of you, do you want to live in the light or live in the shadows of darkness?  It's your choice.

Please understand that when you live in darkness, you will not find the right path.  You will not be able to see danger.  You will not be able to find the true life that is offered to you by our loving God.  If you live in His Light, all things are possible.  His love is limitless.

Lord, open the eyes of those that are living in darkness and expose them to Your light.  Amen.
