Disobedience

Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people. Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God. You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him. Don’t participate in the things these people do. For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true (Ephesians 5:3-9 NLT).

There is nothing more that God wants from any of us than to come to Him in repentance while acknowledging and accepting His Son. He loves us so much but lets us walk the path we choose. He has also given us the free will to do as we desire. The big problem is with that free will, we tend to do our best to destroy ourselves with sinful life choices. We look for the pleasures and thrills of the world instead of the peace that He offers. We are disobedient children.

A huge problem arises from this sinful life and that problem is separation from God. We cannot have a relationship with Him as unrepentant sinners. It's our choice. God has already provided all that we need to become one of His dearly beloved children, so it's up to us to choose.

Dear God, open the eyes of those who are living in continual, unrepentant sin. Open their hearts to Your love, mercy, and grace. Lord let them see, feel, and smell Your goodness. Lord, let them feel Your peace. After experiencing Your peace, let them never wander away. Lord may You keep them in Your mighty hand. Father, love us continually and draw us closer to You. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Praying God's Words Back to Him

Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life (Psalm 139:23-24 NLT).

A good friend and co-worker uses this term quite often, “now let us pray God's words back to Him.” Today, please take the time to pray the words of Psalm 139:23-24 back to God. I suggest that you pray this multiple times today and then continue this pattern for the next few weeks. Our nation is in a mess.

We all have junk going on in our lives that only God can help us with. While we pray this, be honest with God about our struggles, after-all, He already knows exactly what is in our hearts and minds. He knows we are broken and in need of His assistance. God is here to help us get through any valley that we might be crossing. Today, be honest with God and let Him show you where you need work. Let Him fine-tune your heart and your life. Today, let God be God in your life.

Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

Amen.

Wednesday

Give It All to God

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand (Isaiah 41:10 NLT).

Give all your trials, troubles, illnesses, heartaches, and headaches to God. He is more than capable. Trust in Him!

Father, help us not hold anything back from You. Help us bring all of our troubles to the foot of Your throne. Lord God, forgive us where we sin against You. Forgive us for making poor life choices and bring us back into Your presence. We praise You, Father! We praise YOU! We humble ourselves and ask for forgiveness. Lead us to be more like Jesus today than yesterday. We ask and pray in the mighty and matchless name of Christ. Amen.

Thursday

Reflection

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him (Colossians 1:15, 16 NLT).

Let us reflect on how awesome our God is, how He is our Creator and Redeemer, how His plan is perfect from the beginning to the end. Scripture illustrates His perfect plan. A relationship with Jesus is the only way we can approach the throne of God. Don't put off that personal relationship any longer. Your decision has eternal consequences.

Thanks be to God. We should thank Him for loving us and chasing us for all of our wayward years.

This is a personal plea to anyone who is still leading a wayward life, If you are running from Him, why don't you stop and let Him catch you?

Dear Lord, bring the lost home to You. May they bow at the feet of Your amazing Son, Jesus Christ, amen.

Friday

Truth & Justice

For the word of the LORD holds true, and we can trust everything he does. He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the LORD fills the earth (Psalms 33:4-5 NLT).

God's truth will prevail. The political correctness of this lost and dying world will be cast under His mighty feet.

Dear Father God, show this world Your truth and love, but with that truth comes Your hand of justice. It will be sure and final. Father, we ask that You bring the lost to Your throne of grace. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Saturday

Accepting or Rejecting

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me” (John 14:6 NLT).

You can reject me, but please, please don't reject Jesus Christ.

Lord, open the hearts of those who are rejecting You and Your truth. I pray that all will be saved. The Way has been provided, I pray that all will accept Your way, Lord. Amen.

Sunday

We Will Not Succumb

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7 NLT).

I will not bow down to the political correctness of this world. I will stand by God's Word and truth. I will preach His Word and truth. I’d rather die while standing on His truth than succumb to the lies of this world. Our victory is not in ourselves or what the world says we are to believe but in the truth of God and the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

I've read God's Word and I believe and proclaim it as God's inerrant and inspired Word. I believe in Jesus Christ, who sacrificed His life for me, and for all people - past, present, and future. Christ died for all. It's our choice on whether we believe in Him or not. It's our choice if we repent of our brokenness. It’s our choice if we spend eternity in heaven or hell.

Hear this sinners (every one of us), God doesn't send anyone to hell, that is our decision. In fact, God made a way for each of us to be saved, perfectly said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

Be strong citizens of heaven and followers of Christ because it's going to get rough. Be prepared by putting on the full armor of God (Eph. 6:10-17). All God requires of us is to remain faithful. I, also, choose to fight the good fight.  After all, Jesus has already secured the victory. His victory is secured by grace and faith. Stop crying in your cereal, Christians! Put on some thick skin and get in the fight. Proclaim the truth and take as many people to heaven with you as you are can. Jesus saves, we don't, but we must proclaim His love, mercy, and grace to the lost and dying world. Jesus gave us the responsibility of this in Matthew 28:18-20, thanks be to God !!!

But one of the twenty-four elders said to me, “Stop weeping! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David’s throne, has won the victory. He is worthy to open the scroll and its seven seals” (Revelation 5:5 NLT).

Lord God, help us stand firm in our belief and faith in You. We need your full suit of armor and the heart of Christ to fight the good fight. We must go into this battle prepared and knowing that You have already provided ultimate victory for Your children. Lead us today and direct us by Your Holy Spirit. We ask and pray in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
