Sin and Our Heart

I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you (Psalms 119:11 NLT).

Folks, it's a heart issue. If we deny God's Word and live in unrepentant sin, we should question whether Christ lives in our hearts.

We all are sinners, and we all sin differently, but the real issue is that we are denying God's instructions when we don't come to the foot of the cross in repentance, not just sorrow but true repentance. Come to Jesus and repent.

Lord God, thank You for giving us Your Word for a guide to life but more importantly, thanks You for Jesus and His sacrifice to save us from ourselves. Amen.

Tuesday

God's Hand of Blessing

You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand! (Psalm 139:4-6 NLT).

The children of God are led by His amazing hand. We are led down the paths of life and into an eternal future. God knows our every step and will direct and bless us as we travel life's trials and tribulations.

God doesn't direct us into sin but gave us a way to step out of sin, through His Son, Jesus Christ. Sin doesn't have to control our lives, it's our choice. We have the decision of accepting God's blessing of deliverance and salvation or choosing the world's deception of riches and pleasures.

I pray, on this Eve of a new year, that we will turn from our sinful ways and lean on the Lord and His blessings in our lives.

May God be with each of you and direct your every step, today and forever. Amen.

Wednesday

He Laid the Foundation

The Lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O Lord , endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me (Psalms 138:8 NLT).

Created by God; formed by God; He lives in each of us, but gives us free will. He has a plan for each of us, and we have our plan. Are we gonna choose our plan or His plan?

His love for each of us is far greater than we can comprehend, on this side of Heaven. Thanks be to God.

Dear Father, we praise Your Mighty Name. Thank You For All Things. Thank You for being a righteous, just and loving God. Without Your justice, all we would have is anarchy of the heart; with Your correction for our lives, we might live a life that is beneficial to ourselves and others. With Your love, we will never know being unloved or lonely. Lead the lost back to You, Father, so that they might have a good life and a secure eternity. We pray this in the mighty and matchless name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Thursday

His Magnificent Plan

I will exalt you, my God and King, and praise your name forever and ever. I will praise you every day; yes, I will praise you forever. Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness (Psalms 145:1-3 NLT).

I can't exclaim, loud enough, how much I praise God and what He has, is doing and is going to do, in my life. He saved me from myself. He gave me eternal life with Him through Jesus Christ. He is now using me and shaping me to boldly serve Him. He is using my spiritual gifts for His glory. He has a magnificent plan for me, a plan that I haven't a clue about. That's my God!

Not only is He my God, but He is also your God too. He will do great works in your life if you ask Him into your heart and life. Today is the day to become a child of the Most High God! Let Jesus reign in your life. He will make a difference today and eternally.

Father God, thank You. We praise You. We worship You. We pray in the mighty name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Friday

Ecstatic

This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it (Psalms 118:24 NLT).

We, all of us, should be excited – no ecstatic for today. There will never be another day like today. We were all blessed to open our eyes this morning. Yes, blessed to take another breath.

God has richly blessed each of us with another day of life. Worship God and give Him thanks.

Lord God, thank You for another day on this earth. Help us to use this day for Your glory and not ours. Help us to help the needy and the lost. Help us, Lord, as we are not capable of doing Your work, without You leading the way. Direct our path today and every day. We praise Your Holy Name. Amen.

Saturday

Truth

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!” (John 14:6-7 NLT).

Do you know Him?

Father God, I pray that someone who reads this devotion will accept Your Son, Jesus Christ as their Savior and King. Lord, help those who are misled about multiple ways to get to Heaven, realize that there is only one way to Heaven and that's through Jesus. Father, forgive us for our sins and cleanse us with the sacrificed blood of Christ. It's in His name that we pray. Amen.

Sunday

Lead Us Lord

Lead me in the right path, O Lord, or my enemies will conquer me. Make your way plain for me to follow (Psalms 5:8 NLT).

Father God, hold us in your arms. Protect us from the troubles of this world. Shield us from Satan's attacks and lies. Direct us in the right direction; Your way not ours. Make clear Your way, because we often follow the wrong road. We trust in You, Lord. You will never fail us, even though we fail You daily. Forgive our ineptness and save us from ourselves. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
