Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer (Romans 12:12, KJV).
Now, more than ever, is the time to pray for our country and its leaders as they seek to navigate us through this COVID-19 pandemic. We know it is spreading, and elected leaders are having to make difficult decisions.
Please pray for President Trump, Vice President Pence, and our senators and representatives who are having to meet and vote every day for our country's next step in fighting this crisis. Also, pray for our governors and mayors as they are also making tough decisions on a local level in an effort to keep our communities safe.
Pray for healing for our country. God is able. This is the prime opportunity to witness and share the gospel with others. We have been praying for another Great Awakening in this country, and this could very well be the time and place for a great revival. God has a plan, and we will trust in Him.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14, KJV).
Also, pray for the health care providers who are on the front lines. Let's pray for a hedge of protection to be placed around the doctors and nurses who are taking care of patients while putting their own health and the health of their families at risk. We know they have the education, skills, and expertise to handle such a crisis, but, unfortunately, they are being outnumbered by patients and running out of protective equipment and the basic necessities to do their jobs successfully and safely. They need our prayers. Many health care workers are so weary from pure exhaustion. They are emotionally and physically drained.
Will you commit to pray for our country, our leaders, and our health care providers?
Just like Jesus had compassion for others, we are to have compassion as well. During this pandemic, we also need to take care of the sick and elderly. Many are quarantined at home alone. A simple phone call to check on them may be just what they need to not feel so isolated during this crisis. Others may need an errand run for them to prevent them being unnecessarily exposed to the coronavirus. You could be a lifesaver for the elderly and immune compromised. Reach out to an elderly or sick friend, family member, or neighbor today!
Helping others is a gift and a blessing as is praying for and with people who are in need. Give your time and comfort to people who need comforting. Do all things for the glory of God.
