DAILY STAND EMAIL
Thursday, May 07, 2020 @ 08:30 AM Pray With Us Today Tim Wildmon President MORE

As most of you are well aware, the National Day of Prayer is an annual national observance established by public law in 1952. It has been observed publicly on the first Thursday in May since 1988. I am excited to announce and invite you to pray with AFA/AFR today, May 7, on the AFA/AFR NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER LIVE BROADCAST FROM 10:10-11:30 A.M. CT.

Pray with us "live" over the airways on AFR stations or online at AFR.net, AFA.net, AFR's Facebook page, or AFA's Facebook page.

Leading in prayer will be Tim Wildmon, Sandy Rios, Abraham Hamilton, Bishop E. W. Jackson, Bryan Fischer, Dr. Ray Pritchard, Ed Vitagliano, Jim Stanley, Fred Jackson, Meeke Addison, Bert Harper, Dr. Ray Rooney, Dr. Alex McFarland, Walker Wildmon, Buddy Smith, and more.

Help us spread the word! Personally invite your friends to join us in prayer tomorrow.

I think you will agree that our nation is in great turmoil and the problems we are facing are too large for human understanding. Like King Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20, I believe that God's people today need to do some earnest praying. The biblical account describes how the king reminded God of some promises that had first been made to his forefathers, and then cried out in 2 Chronicles 20:12, "We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” The result was that God spoke in their time of crisis.

To help prepare for this upcoming time of prayer, I invite you to read and consider an important article titled "Politics aside: Can prayer save America?" It was written by Buddy Smith, AFA's senior vice president, and appears in the May 2020 issue of AFA Journal. Buddy writes that we have seen God save our country in the past, and we need to call on Him to do it again.

In addition to AFR's live broadcast, I also want to invite you to join the "Pray God's Glory Across the Earth" National Broadcast tonight, May 7, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. CT. The theme for this year's National Day of Prayer is based on Habakkuk 2:14: "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea."

Leading the night will be Kathy Branzell (president of the National Day of Prayer Task Force) and Will Graham (Billy Graham Evangelistic Association), with help from Rick Warren (Saddleback Church); Bishop Harry Jackson (Hope Christian Church); Michael W. Smith; Nick Hall (Pulse), Robert Morris (Gateway Church); Sens. James Lankford (R-OK), Chris Coons (D-DE), and Tim Scott R-SC); Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO); Luis and Andrew Palau (Luis Palau Evangelistic Association); Billy Wilson (Oral Roberts University); Pat Robertson (CBN); and many more.

It will be broadcast, streamed, and posted in various ways including on our website and via Facebook Live at facebook.com/natlprayer.
