Monday
Walking in the Light
Jesus replied, “There are twelve hours of daylight every day. During the day people can walk safely. They can see because they have the light of this world. But at night there is danger of stumbling because they have no light” (John 11:9-10 NLT).
This broken world is full of darkness both during daytime hours and at night. The darkness that Jesus is speaking of is not the literal nighttime but the darkness of Satan and his demons that drag us into the world of sin and eternal death. There is an answer to this world’s darkness, and there is only one answer – the Light of Jesus Christ.
Satan can't extinguish the flame of Jesus. Christians are given the task to be the hands and feet of Jesus, so as followers of Christ, we are challenged to shine Christ's light so that people will see His truth and find direction for their lives.
Father God, help remind us, daily, that we are to shine Christ's light into this lost and dying world. We are to shine His light, not to glorify ourselves or anything we do, but to glorify Jesus and His sacrifice for our lives. Help your lost children see your light and follow it to repentance, forgiveness, and salvation. I ask and pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Tuesday
Short and Point On
Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together (Colossians 1:15-17 NLT).
Do you see? It is ALL about Jesus! Enough said.
We praise you, Lord, you were there from the beginning. You are the Word. You are Truth. You are our Savior. Thanks be to God for the perfect plan. We pray and give thanks in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
Wednesday
Kingdom Search
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need (Luke 12:31 NLT).
If we search the world for treasures, we will just find stuff. Stuff that has no lasting value. When we search for God and His riches, we will find life, true life, and life everlasting.
Father God, thank you for the many treasures that you have laid out for those who follow you. We praise You Lord and we especially pray for the souls of the lost that have not found the saving grace provided by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Thursday
Now is the Time to Stand Firm
Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love (1 Corinthians 16:13-14 NLT).
Satan roams to steal, kill, and destroy. Be on guard. Know that you can trust in God. Be firm in the faith. Be courageous, as you will come against all types of adversaries – human-kind and spiritual. And be sure to live and love in the spirit of Christ. This is the foundation of being a man or woman of Christian integrity.
Father, protect us from the evil one. Place your hand on us so that the devil can't touch us and his demons can't destroy us. We trust in you and pray, this request of protection, in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and King. Amen.
Friday
God's Power
O Sovereign LORD! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you (Jeremiah 32:17 NLT).
Don't underestimate the power of God. His love, mercy, and grace cover His children like a warm blanket on a cold night.
Thanks be to God!
Dear Lord, your will; nothing more; nothing less; nothing else. Amen.
Saturday
Distress Signal
In my distress I prayed to the Lord,
and the Lord answered me and set me free.
The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear.
What can mere people do to me?
Yes, the Lord is for me; he will help me.
I will look in triumph at those who hate me.
It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to trust in people (Psalm 118:5-8 NLT).
When we are down, depressed, or just without hope, we must pray. God will set us free of the anguish that we are feeling. He will provide us with strength, comfort, peace, and enable us to keep walking.
God is Real! Thanks be to God!
Lord God, thank you for setting us free and showing us about true liberty. We are thankful for your hand of mercy, grace, and love. Lead us today by your Holy Spirit and make our way easy. Forgive us of our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. We ask and pray in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
Sunday
Waiting
“Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD” (Psalms 27:14).
Patience is not one of my attributes. I don't know about you but I struggle as I wait for many things to happen. I guess the lack of patience is in my DNA.
With each year of life, I've learned that I need to pray often and wait for God to answer. He does hear us. We just have to wait and be thankful no matter how He answers our prayers. He will always answer either eys, no or not yet. Whatever the answer, it always benefits us. We might not see it at the time, but one day we will realize His answer was best.
Lord God, thank you for answered prayers, even when we can't understand why you answered us in the way that you did. We know that your answer will benefit us, regardless of how it seems at the time. We praise you, Father, for you are the Creator of all things, and you know the beginning and the end. You are the Alpha and Omega. Praise be to you, Father God. We pray and praise you in the mighty name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
