Self-Evaluation

Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us (Romans 12:3 NLT).

We should ask ourselves a question. It's a personal question. Ask yourself, “Am I saved?” Do you know and proclaim Jesus as your Savior? If you do, how does your life reflect Him?

Don't spend your time pointing at others when you should be concerned for your own soul. If you do claim to be a follower of Christ, demonstrate it by your life and lifestyle. When you live a life with Christ at the head of it, people will see that light and want to join you in the Son-shine.

Thank you Jesus for saving us from ourselves. Thank you for giving all people an opportunity to be saved. In Christ's name, Amen.

Tuesday

Confession

Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the LORD. And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone (Psalm 32:5 NLT).

Thanks be to God for sending Jesus to save us from ourselves.

Dear Lord, all of us have sinned and fall short of your glory. Lord, help us to stop trying to hide our transgressions. Help us step up and admit and confess our sins. We are broken sinners. Sin is not based on what we say it is, but on what you proclaim in your holy Word. Father, thank You for giving us a roadmap for life. The life you offer is not only in the here-and-now but eternally. We praise your name, Father God, and pray in the mighty name of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wednesday

It All Turns to Rust or Dust

I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake, I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ (Philippians 3:7, 8 NLT).

I still have many friends who are chasing the desires of this world. They are trying to outdo the "Jones" next door with the nicest house, car, dog, etc. They have not discovered what real life is. Folks, real life is having Jesus as your Savior. That is real, very real.

Father God, I pray that many people will see their worldly "idols" are just that; of this world and merely worldly idolatry. Dear Lord, lead us and direct us into your desires and not ours. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Thursday

Hope

Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying (Romans 12:12 NLT).

Our hope is not in this world but in God. We will have trouble and trials as we walk on this earth, but God provides our strength to endure. Stay strong and pray.

Dear Lord, thank you for your unfailing love. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Friday

Where Are You Putting Your Trust?

Trust in the LORD always, for the LORD GOD is the eternal Rock (Isaiah 26:4 NLT).

Are you trusting totally in God? In reality, we tend to trust in the things of this world. Folks, remember, anything of this world is only temporary. God is eternal. Stand on His rock and don't waiver. He will bless you and provide for your needs.

Dear Father, bring us to a deeper understanding of your hand of eternal trust. In the name of Jesus, I ask and pray. Amen.

Saturday

Trust?

Trust in the LORD always, for the LORD GOD is the eternal Rock (Isaiah 26:4 NLT).

Are you trusting totally in God? In reality, a lot of us are probably not. We tend to trust in the things of this world. Many times, we trust in ourselves to solve problems without asking God for help. Folks, remember, everything of this world is only temporary. God is eternal. We must stand on His rock and not waiver. He will bless us and provide for our needs. But we have to ask for His help. Are we on our knees, praying?

Dear Father, bring us to a deeper understanding of your hand of eternal trust. In the name of Jesus, we ask and pray. Amen.

Sunday

Our Way or His?

And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, (Titus 2:12 NLT).

Are we living by God's instructions? Are we at least trying to live righteously, turning from our sinful nature?

Dear Lord, we each fight with the pull and distraction of this world. We are all drawn into the lies and deception of the father of this world, Satan. Our human nature draws us away from what is good and righteous and pulls us to the pleasures of sin. Help us Lord draw closer to you. Bind Satan’s hands in our lives so that he doesn't pull us away from you, Lord. Lead us, Lord, guide us Lord and hold us in the palm of your amazing hand. We can't do this thing called life without you, Lord. I pray in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, and Redeemer. Amen.
