And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 5:20 NLT).
Just what are you thankful for? Would it be family, friends, job, car, or motorcycle? Shouldn't we be thankful for everything? All good things come by way of God's blessings. But none surpass the greatest gift of all, Jesus Christ!
Dear Lord, let us come to you in all our needs. Open our hearts to hear your response. Lead us down your path so we might better serve you and others. In Jesus' mighty and matchless name, amen.
God Has Open Arms
So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him (Luke 15:20 NLT).
No matter how far we run, no matter how many years we hide, no matter what we have done, our heavenly Father is waiting for our return. He has His mighty arms spread wide open and ready to embrace us. He loves us more than we can ever imagine and has never forsaken us or given up on us. We are His valued children.
Isn't it time to come back home? Isn't it time to turn from your wicked ways and find out what real life is all about? Isn't it time to let God bless you and redeem you? Aren't you tired of running?
Dear Lord, use this message to bring someone back to you. Father God, my prayer today and always is to bring them home. Someone reading this now needs to turn around and head back into your mighty arms, Father. Please Lord, bring them home. I pray this in the mighty name of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think (Ephesians 3:20 NLT).
Not one of us can live up to our full potential without the power of God in our lives. His power to drive us to do more; to do better; to serve others; to love those who seem unlovable to us; to hate the sins that destroy our friends; to be great mothers, fathers, and children; to be better citizens; to enjoy His creation; to be better at praising Him; to feed the hungry; to house the homeless; and to love God with all our heart, mind and soul.
He’ll help us do these and more when we rely on His power for protection by putting on the full armor of God daily (read: Ephesians 6:10-17).
God wants us to be centered in Him through His Word by His love, mercy, and grace. God gives us the free will to choose if we want Him or the world. I pray everyone will choose wisely.
Father God, lead us to live up to our full potential, not the potential that we see for ourselves, but the potential you see for us. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
The Real GPS for Life
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires (Hebrews 4:12 NLT).
God has given us His Word as a guide for our lives. Consider it the ultimate GPS to guide our entire existence.
We must realize His Word will reveal our imperfections and transgressions that destroy our lives. This truth cuts deep into our bodies and souls. This truth hurts but this is only a temporary hurt.
By living from His Word, He guides us to a full and Godly life.
A great illustration is today's Scripture. Thanks be to God for giving us the truth and a road-map for life.
Heavenly Father, thank you for your guide for our lives. We pray that each person who reads this will pick up their bibles and read your Word and apply it to their lives. We ask and pray in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
Yes, All Things!
Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible,” (Matthew 19:26 NLT).
All things are possible with God. Not some, not a few, but ALL things! This concept is beyond our understanding. Our faith must kick into gear, and we must trust our Lord. Thank You, Lord.
Dear God, Your will – nothing more, nothing less, nothing else. Amen.
Sin and Our Hearts
I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you (Psalm 119:11 NLT).
Folks, it's a heart issue. If we deny God's Word and live in unrepentant sin, we should question whether Christ lives in our hearts.
We all are sinners, and we all sin differently, but the real issue is that we are denying God's instructions when we don't come to the foot of the cross in repentance. This is not just sorrow but true repentance. Come to Jesus and repent.
Lord God, thank you for giving us your Word as a guide to life but more importantly, thanks be to Jesus for His sacrifice to save us from ourselves. Amen.
He Laid the Foundation
The Lord will work out his plans for my life – for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me (Psalm 138:8 NLT).
Created by God and formed by God, He lives in each of us, yet gives us free will. He has a plan for each of us, and we have our plan. Are we going to choose our plan or His plan?
His love for each of us is far greater than we can comprehend on this side of Heaven. Thanks be to God.
Dear Father, we praise your mighty name. Thank you for all things. Thank you for being a righteous, just, and loving God. Without your justice, all we would have is anarchy of the heart. With your correction for our lives, we might live a life that is beneficial to ourselves and others. With Your love, we will never know being unloved or lonely. We pray that the church (us) will lead the lost back to You, Father, so they might have a good life and a secure eternity. We pray this in the mighty and matchless name of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
