Speak Truth or Be Truth?

You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world – like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father (Matthew 5:13-16 NLT).

We must speak truth...NO...we must BE truth to the world.

Jesus challenged each of us to be salt and light to a lost and dying world. If we don't share the truth, we might as well just turn our world totally over to Satan. If we do not light up the world with His truth, it will continue to become dimmer and dimmer. Folks, we MUST, be the hands and feet of Jesus.

No one must do everything but each of us must do something. Use the gifts that God has blessed you with and do something for the kingdom.

Lord God help us to stand strong on your truth. Lord, help us to see what our spiritual gifts are and show us how to use our gifts to share your love, mercy, and grace with this lost and dying world. We ask in the mighty name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Tuesday

Don't be...

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand (Isaiah 41:10 NLT).

Our nation seems to be crumbling around us. Everything that is good is now bad and everything that is bad is good. We must remember God's promises and His words, it is more important now than ever before.

It is your choice on how to deal with life. We can worry and fret over problems in life and stress over stuff that we cannot control, or we can let God handle these issues. It's our choice. God will and can handle these problems better than we can. He just might handle these issues in a totally different way than we would. He just might amaze us with His solution to our needs. All that we must do is get out of His way and let Him work in our lives.

Thank you, Lord, for being a God of relationship. You created us Lord and will never leave us. Thanks be to you, Father God. Amen.

Wednesday

God's Unfailing Love

No power in the sky above or in the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:39 NLT).

Because God loves us, He became human and came into our world, where He bore our sin for us. This is love!

Lord God, thank you for loving us far more than we deserve. Father, thank you for deeming us worthy of your unending love. We praise you and worship you, Lord. Amen.

Thursday

Time to Start Anew

For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland (Isaiah 43:19 NLT).

God is ready to move mightily in your life, are you willing to let Him? He has begun a work in you, are you ready to get out of His way?

The first day of a new year is a great time to ask God to reveal to you the path you should take. Yet He hears anytime we ask.  The big thing is you must be willing to listen, obey, and submit to Him. Are you willing?

Thanks be to God for making a way for His needy children. Amen.

Friday

We Are Needy

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him (Psalms 91:1-2 NLT).

In this crazy world that we live in, isn't it wonderful to have a loving God who we can come to when we are in need of rest or protection of His shelter? Our God is amazing, and His love, mercy, and grace endure forever.

Rest in Him. Trust in Him. Have faith in Him. He never fails us.

Father God, may we realize you are with us, 24/7/365. You never leave us or abandon us. We praise you, Lord God. Amen.

Saturday

Eternal Hope

And his name will be the hope of all the world (Matthew 12:21 NLT).

There is only one hope for us. There is only one way to heaven. There is only one Savior. His name is Jesus Christ. Without Him, there is no hope. With Him, we have everlasting hope, eternal hope.

Dear Lord, Thank you. Amen.

Sunday

Just Do It

Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses (1 Timothy 6:12 NLT).

As a follower of Christ, do not be misled by thinking just because you are a Christian that things are going to be perfect. There will never be perfection in this world. The only perfect one was Jesus Christ, and we put Him to death on a cross. No, this world is full of problems and trials, even for and especially for Christians.

One thing we can be assured of is our salvation is secure through the amazing grace of Jesus Christ. Our eternity in heaven is God's promise for those who have faith in Christ, repent of their sin, and proclaim Jesus as their King and Savior. We are secure in eternity.

But we just can't wait for our time to go to be with God. No, we must get in the fight. The good fight to increase God's kingdom by sharing the gospel and making disciples of all nations and peoples. We must share the good news. We must remember the good news brings with it persecution and many times rejection. Be strong. Be strong in Christ. Just go DO IT.

Thanks be to God for giving us a job to do for His glory. Amen.
