Monday

Jesus Is

“I am the Alpha and the Omega – the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come – the Almighty One” (Revelation 1:8 NLT).

It is ALL about Jesus. As one of my ministry brothers likes to say, “You don't need to believe me, just believe God!”

Dear Lord, let the lost hear and the blind see that you are God of all. Amen.

Tuesday

The Battle

You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail (Proverbs 19:21 NLT).

Making plans for our lives is a good thing, a needed thing, but we must ask God to be in the middle of those plans. If we eliminate Him from our plans and desires, we will always be fighting an uphill battle.

Why not ask God to direct your thoughts on what He wants you to do? Pray about it and wait for clarity when making big decisions.

I personally have been on both sides of acting my way vs. God's way. Believe me, His way is so much better.

Lord God, we pray for your direction in our lives. Help us to always ask you before we set out on our own. We ask in the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Wednesday

Ask!

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind (James 1:5-6 NLT).

Don't waiver in your soulful prayer. Never fail to believe that all things are possible with God. Pray and believe God will hear and act upon your needs.

Our God is the almighty God of all things. He is sovereign and trustworthy. Believe and come to His throne in humility. He is God. Trust in Him and not in yourself.

Thank you, Lord, that nothing is too big or too small for us to bring to you. Hear our prayers, and Father, please meet our needs. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Thursday

Your Golden Calf

The LORD told Moses, “Quick! Go down the mountain! Your people whom you brought from the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves. How quickly they have turned away from the way I commanded them to live! They have melted down gold and made a calf, and they have bowed down and sacrificed to it. They are saying, ‘These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you out of the land of Egypt” (Exodus 32:7-8 NLT).

Have you built your own golden calf to worship? What is that idol that you have built? Is it the worldly morals, instead of God's morals?

It seems that people with a "new" set of morals have abandoned God's morals. They are calling their sin the new morality, of which they believe everyone should approve. All these new morals are just another golden calf to worship.

Idols come in many forms. One of those idols could be a government that provides needs that are not worked for – "free stuff." Or that idol could be fundamentally changing our nation, one immoral law at a time.

We must stand strong on God’s morals and His Word. If we don't, God will let us reap what we sow.

Dear Lord, forgive us for not standing up for your truth. Help us to stand firm in love and not hate. Lead us to be strong in our faith. We pray in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.

Friday

Ultimate Victory

For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God (1 John 5:4-5 NLT).

Victory is ours by the power of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Lord God, we praise you for the ultimate and final victory. We pray for our faith to be strong and our devotion to you to be resolute. Help us to fight the good fight and keep our eyes focused on you. Thank you, Lord God! Amen.

Saturday

Busyness

And this righteousness will bring peace. Yes, it will bring quietness and confidence forever (Isaiah 32:17 NLT).

The definition for busyness is:

1. the quality or condition of being busy.

2. lively but meaningless activity.

In our crazy and busy lives, we just need to sit down and take a deep breath. We get so busy that we forget the peace God offers us. We forget He tells us to come and rest in Him.

Folks, if we keep God first, life gets much more manageable. Not that life will be easy, but with Him first, we can deal much better with the junk in our lives. Also when we trust and put our hope in Him, we have the comfort of knowing our eternity is secure. Now that is real peace. Thank you, Jesus!

Lord God, help us to relax, take a deep breath, and enter your holy court of peace. In Christ's name, we pray. Amen.

Sunday

Guide Us Lord

So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions (Galatians 5:16-17 NLT).

Remember we are in a battle every day of our lives. Ephesians 6:12 states there is a war going on around us. It is a battle of good vs. evil. Unseen forces trying to claim victory over us.

Folks, this is so very true. We must stay strong in God's Word and His promise. We have victory through Him. Thanks be to God.

Father God, help us to trust fully in your hand of spiritual protection. Help us to fully rely on you but not neglect our part in what needs to be done. I pray in your mighty name. Amen.
