Do you ever wonder what God is up to today? I mean, really up to? In the midst of the violence, injustice, division, moral degradation, depression, corruption, and lack of desire for heavenly things, what is God doing?
I recently participated in the annual meeting of the National Prayer Committee. It was there that someone enthusiastically exclaimed, “We are in revival right now.” To be frank, I responded with a sense of bewilderment and almost disgust. I thought to myself, “Whoever thinks we are in revival has not looked at revival history or even Scripture itself. And those who think we are in revival are actually doing great harm to the cause since they are diminishing both the glorious magnitude and the sacredness of such a movement.”
Needless to say, I was genuinely grieved. Until…
…the speaker proceeded to say that the kind of revival he was talking about was a revival of prayer FOR revival. I contemplated his statement for only a split second, and then wholeheartedly agreed that the degree to which prayer is rapidly being resurrected to become the focal point of believers is widespread and mainstream. Now THAT is encouraging! Why? Because, as Matthew Henry reminded us,
“When God is about to extend great mercy upon His people, He first sets them to prayer.”
Prayer is the one common denominator of every great move of God’s Spirit. My mentor in the ways of God in revival used to repeat over and over, “Every revival in the history of the world has been given birth to, cradled, or nurtured in prayer.” I could not agree more. And I could go on and on about the importance of prayer when it comes to the ways of God in revival.
What does this mean for you as a part of the remnant who is crying out for revival? It means, don’t miss strategic opportunities to participate in united prayer. Especially the following:
Every Tuesday at 8:00 PM (Eastern) OneCry’s Facebook Live Prayer for the Nation
February 25 Collegiate Day of Prayer
February 23–26 Heart-Cry for Revival Conference
The Heart-Cry for Revival Conference is an opportunity of a lifetime for those who are wanting to learn more about revival, get equipped to serve in revival, and be commissioned for revival. The genesis of the Heart-Cry Conference was during the Jesus Movement. It is likely the longest continuous Revival Conference in North America. And this year’s virtual gathering will include over 40 prayerfully selected speakers and workshop leaders.
Why do I say this may be an opportunity of a lifetime? Because, if God is setting the stage through prayer, and is about to unleash His power in revival, we must be prepared to receive it, shepherd it, and spread it to the world around us and beyond.
Would you please pray about being a part of this gathering? In fact, would you pray and ask God if He would NOT want you to be a part? And if He does not say yes to missing it, would you assume the answer is yes to attend online? Your own heart, family, church, community, and nation may be dependent on it…right now as He is preparing the way.
Please register at the link below, and encourage others you know to join you. Revival is closer than ever – let’s not let it slip away. According to Hosea 10:12, only God can send revival, but we are the ones to seek it:
It is time to seek the Lord until He comes and rains righteousness upon us.
With one cry…for His glory!
