Our Guide

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise (Philippians 4:8 NLT).

We cannot produce anything that is truly good with our lives without having a guide who shows us the Way.

Folks, if you want to be able to tackle life's challenges, just look to Jesus.

Lord God, thank you for giving us your Holy Word and sending the Holy Spirit to guide us through this broken world. Lord, we are broken people, living in a broken world and we need you in our lives. We need you 24/7/365, not just when we cry out for help. We need you before, during, and after we have fallen into the quagmire of sin. We need you to open our eyes to our failings and call us back into your mighty arms. Help us today, Lord, as we cannot do this thing called life without you being our guide. We ask in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Tuesday

Cycling Through Life

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow – not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38-39 NLT).

God loves us. His children know this love. We will never be separated from His presence.

Do you know Him? Do you know God's love? Do you understand His mercy? Have you accepted His grace? Have you accepted Jesus as your Savior? Have you repented of your sin? Have you gotten tired of chasing this world's lies and deceptions?

If you have not accepted Jesus as your Savior, isn't it time? Are you just cycling through each month, week, a day doing the same old things, regretting the same old sin, waking up with the same old hangover, and then starting all over in the same old cycle?

Jesus allows U-turns. Isn't it time to turn around and grab His hand?

Lord Jesus, let someone reach out to you today and grab your amazing hand of Salvation. I pray this in the mighty and matchless name that saves, in your name, Jesus. Amen.

Wednesday

His Infallible Word

For we cannot oppose the truth, but must always stand for the truth (2 Corinthians 13:8 NLT).

God's Word. It's true. It's infallible. It's perfect. It's inerrant. It's our map to life – this life and everlasting life.

Read it. Study it. Live it. Believe it. There is nothing in this world that is this perfect and true, except God's Word. Thanks be to God!

Lord God, bring us to the point we will live your Word every day. Thank you, Lord, for giving us another day. Help us to live today like the gift it is. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Thursday

His Promises

God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection (2 Samuel 22:31 NLT).

God's Word - the perfect promise of His protection.

Father God, thank you for your many blessings in our lives. Your promises always prove true. I praise you. Amen.

Friday

It's Possible

Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible” (Matthew 19:26 NLT).

All by ourselves, we really can't reach our potential.

All by ourselves, we will never be what God designed us to be.

All by ourselves, we will miss the joy God has laid out for us.

All by ourselves, we might accomplish huge things,

BUT with God, our lives will be complete and full.

Lord God, thank you for being there and helping us reach our full potential in this life, but more importantly for providing us an eternity with you, Lord. We praise you, Lord, and fall to our knees in reverence. Lead us today, Lord, along the path you would have us take. We pray in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

Saturday

Help Is Available

Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me. For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke. If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me (Psalm 66:16-20 NLT).

I am so thankful God saved me from myself. He will do the same for you. I know there is someone who is reading this that is struggling with addictions. It might be gluttony which I struggled with or you might be struggling with porn or other sexual addictions. Sin is sin, we have to lay this at the foot of the Cross.

Get on your knees and pray for Jesus to come into your heart. Repent of your sins and earnestly pray He will remove that sin from your life.

Be forewarned you will be in a spiritual battle between God's will in your life and what the world says is okay. It will get tough at times. But, you now have Jesus on your side, He will never forsake you and will always be there for you. Don't be confused, it's not going to be easy. But with Christ, all things are possible.

Lord God, thank you for saving us from ourselves. We pray that we will let you have our hearts and lead us today, tomorrow, and for the rest of our time on earth. Father, help us to decrease, so you will increase. Help us to be more like Jesus today than we were yesterday. In His name, we pray. Amen.

Sunday

God Is My Fortress

Praise the Lord; praise God our savior!
For each day he carries us in his arms (Psalm 68:19 NLT).

When you are struggling and barely making it through each day, just think how much harder it would be without Jesus carrying you in His arms. Yes, He never promised a perfect life, but He did promise to never leave you. And He won't.

Thank you Father for being faithful, even when we are not. We praise your mighty name today and forever. In the name of your Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ, we give praise and offer our prayers. Amen.
