The Way - Joy - Eternity

You will show me the way of life,
granting me the joy of your presence
and the pleasures of living with you forever (Psalm 16:11 NLT).

The Way – God's Word is the roadmap for life and everlasting life, and Jesus is the Way (John 14:6).

Joy – When Jesus is in your heart, He gives joy that will not be found anywhere else.

Eternity in heaven – God promises us this through His Son. Read John 3:16.

Lord God, thank you for giving us the way to joy and eternity in heaven with you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Tuesday

God Is Always On-Call

My help comes from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth!
He will not let you stumble;
the one who watches over you will not slumber (Psalm 121:2-3 NLT).

When we are feeling down, tired or even just plain "whupped,” don't forget God has our back. Don't forget where we should look for help, our Lord. Even when we can't see any way out of the situation that we have gotten ourselves into, the Lord has our back.

All we need to do is repent, pray, and call on His name, trusting He hears our cries for help. Remember God acts in His timing and not ours. He always acts, but it might not be the way you desire.

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13 NLT).

Father God, hear our pleas for help. We need you, Lord. We can only struggle through life without you. With you, we can accomplish all things. I praise you, Lord. Amen.

Wednesday

Our Walk

Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take (Proverbs 3:6).

Walk with the Lord, it's a sure path.

Dear Lord, help us to stay on the right path, in Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Thursday

He Comes To Us

When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!”

But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!” (Matthew 14:26-27 NLT).

Jesus doesn't just calm our storm and then come to us, He comes to us in the midst of our storm. He could calm the storm and make an easy path to help us but chooses not to do that. It's important to realize He is with us even when we think we are all by ourselves during the tragedies of our lives. God holds us tightly during these storms and uses them so we might draw nearer to Him.

Lord, thank you for carrying us through our storms and never abandoning us. We praise you and give you thanks. Amen.

Friday

Tough Love

Wash yourselves and be clean!
Get your sins out of my sight.
Give up your evil ways.
Learn to do good.
Seek justice.
Help the oppressed.
Defend the cause of orphans.
Fight for the rights of widows (Isaiah 1:16-17 NLT).

These are tough words especially for our nation as it continues to spiral in sin, shamelessness, and defiance of God. Listen America, listen closely to these words from the prophet Isaiah.

Father God, open our hearts and turn our ways away from evil and toward you and your love, mercy, and grace. We pray in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, our Lord. Amen.

Saturday

He Surrounds Us

Just as the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so the Lord surrounds his people, both now and forever (Psalm 125:2 NLT).

God surrounds each of His children with His power, mercy, grace, and love. Whatever this world throws at us; whatever trials and troubles come our way; God is with us. His arm is around us. He carries us when we can't walk. He loves each of us and will see us through our problems in life. Thank you, Lord!

Lord God, thank you for your love, mercy, and grace. Thank you for giving us the power of your Word and the saving grace of salvation through your Son, Jesus Christ. I praise your holy name. Amen.

Sunday

Opening Doors

“But I tell you this – though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence.

“And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened” (Luke 11:8-10 NLT).

God opens doors for each of us, sometimes we don't recognize His efforts because we are too bent on doing things our way. We should take the time to get on our knees and ask God to show us where He wants us to be. The truth be known, we might already be, exactly, where He wants us.

Lord God, help us to follow you and your path for our lives. Help us not be focused on what we want to do but on what you want to do through us. We ask and pray in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior. Amen.
