Faith in mankind. How does God have any? I’m not referring to such epic and tragic chapters of human history as Original Sin, the Noahic flood, the tower of Babel, the crucifixion of Christ, the Inquisition, slavery, Nazism, socialism, terrorism, narcissism, etc. I’m not even talking about world wars, nuclear weapons, the abortion holocaust, or how human suffering is routinely boiled down to a political point or position. Nor am I talking about man’s inhumanity to man.
Rather, I’m wondering how God could have any faith in humanity that continually demonstrates it has so little integrity and almost no intellectual substance anymore.
Google “first name on ballot advantage” and see all the studies that pop up proving that hordes of those who actually vote put their lives in the hands of whoever is listed on the ballot first! Moreover, how is it remotely possible that the majority of eligible voters in a nation where millions of people in the history of the military have given life and/or limb for the right to vote aren’t interested in their own freedom enough to go vote on any given election day?
How is it that truth and facts have taken a back seat to ideology in education and culture? Who in their right mind believes that feelings and self-perception trump biology? How have dishonest academicians gotten away with twisting American history such that many now believe America was founded by horrible people? How is evolution not laughed out of existence seeing that not a single fossil exists (in reality) that demonstrates how one species transitioned into another? We’ve been waiting 162 years for all the transitional fossils Darwin promised would be found and nada. Roe v. Wade relied heavily on the lack of scientific precision and certainty concerning fetal viability. A baby born prematurely at 21 weeks just celebrated his first birthday! How is it that we are still killing babies now that we know?
Global warming (as believed to be caused by human beings) has been shown over and over again to be non-existent. Scientists have been caught cheating and falsifying studies to fit their ideological narrative but it doesn’t seem to matter. Al Gore, Presidents Obama and Biden, and millions of others embrace the belief anyway. They spend obscene amounts of other people’s money to counter something that the scientific data (not computer models) says isn’t happening to begin with!
And then there’s the disfiguration of human sexuality. Common sense unequivocally says that if either God or nature intended homosexuality to be “normative” then the entire species would commit self-extinction. You don’t have to be a genius to look at the continents and see how they fit together. Likewise, you don’t have to take a lucky guess to see how perfectly the male and female anatomy fits together. But now we have a whole lot of people who don’t see it.
Furthermore, all anyone needs to do who is seeking facts and truth about sexuality is to go to the Centers for Disease Control website and see the statistics about AIDS and multiple other sexually transmitted diseases and who gets them and how they get them. So few are willing to admit what is blatantly obvious for anyone with gray matter between their ears: a heterosexual couple cannot get any STD if they remain sexually faithful and true to each other (excluding blood transfusions and tainted needles).
The saddest part is that there is little if any, demarcation between culture/society and the church. Churchgoers are notorious for sitting out elections if no candidate is perfect. Many are on board with the gender fluidity insanity despite what they know of biology and DNA. Many in American Christianity are all in on Critical Race Theory, Intersectionality, and racial guilt trips. Many in the pews believe in evolution and support abortion on demand. They fully support laws that would permit children to mutilate their bodies (permanently) just because they don't feel particularly masculine or feminine. And they support open borders although there has never been a nation in modern history that didn’t require some kind of process for legal immigration. No, many of the people sitting in pews on Sunday believe any and all comers have the right to just walk right in without any procedure and immediately qualify for the benefits of the citizenry.
So, how does God have faith in mankind? We’re evil, stubborn, narcissistic, and just plain stupid. It has become increasingly hard to tell the difference between church and culture. It doesn’t seem like the majority of people have very much interest in truth and reality. Everything has become subjective and all anyone seems to care about is their own personal interpretation of life.
Why God? Why do you have faith in us despite our unending history of shaking our fist at you with one hand while we stick our other hand in the fire because we’ve decided it won’t burn?
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them… (Genesis 1:27)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).
Because as our Creator and Savior He is the immutable and immovable rock of ages. Bottom line: our foolishness will never overcome His faith and love for us. That doesn't mean we won't suffer for our unrepentant foolishness. It just means that we can never cause Him to do what we have become so nonchalant about doing. God is faithful!
