Beyond Our Imagination

Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds (Psalm 36:5 NLT).

When our eyes open each morning, we should immediately thank God for another day of life. He blesses us each day. His love for us goes beyond our ability to understand the depth of that love.

God is faithful to us, even when we are not faithful to Him. He grants us forgiveness, time and time again. He knows we are broken people who are pulled into sin through our sinful nature. He knows that we will mess up and we need a Savior, which He provided through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Every day we should praise Him and come to the foot of the cross in worship. I pray that you know Him and that you have committed your life to Him. If you haven't, today is not too late to turn to Him, but tomorrow might be. We aren't guaranteed today, much less tomorrow. Isn't it time to make your decision for Christ?

Dear Lord, I pray that many will come to You in repentance, knowing that they are lost for eternity without You. I pray this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Tuesday

Light Is Available

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life” (John 8:12 NLT).

Are you tired of stumbling around in the darkness of this broken world? Do you need Light? It's amazing what can be seen when God shines His Light over your life. Let His Light shine into your life.

It will be the most important thing you will ever do.

Lord God, thank You for Your Light. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Wednesday

His Light Shines - Forever

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it (John 1:5 NLT).

No matter how hard Satan and his band of demons try to extinguish Christ's light, it will never happen. His truth, His glory, and His light will never be extinguished. This world cannot hide from Jesus. This world cannot hide from Christ's light. Our Savior will continue to shine His bright light into the shadows of this world. He will have victory.

Lord God, thank You for Jesus and the gift of salvation, redeeming us from our past sin. Let Your Light shine! We praise Your holy name, Amen.

Thursday

Fear Not

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand (Isaiah 41:10 NLT).

It's your choice on how to deal with life. You can worry and fret over problems and stress over stuff that you can't control, or you can let God handle these issues. It's your choice. I can guarantee that God will and can handle these problems better than you. He just might handle these issues in a totally different way than you would. He just might amaze you with His solution. What you have to do is get out of His way and let God work in your life.

Thank You, Lord, for being a God of relationship. You created us Lord and will never leave us. Thanks be to You, Father God. Amen.

Our Sin Nature

Not a single person on earth is always good and never sins (Ecclesiastes 7:20 NLT).

When we call attention to other people’s sins, just remember that we are sinners too. No sin is greater than another but those who are unrepentant will face eternal separation from God.

We must confess and repent today. God is the answer and will give us the power to defeat the Devil and his devious temptations.

Lord God, open the eyes of the lost and let them see what sin is in their lives. Lord, bring them to repentance and back into Your kingdom. We ask and pray in the mighty name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

The Straight Up Truth

Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven. Don’t imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth! I came not to bring peace, but a sword. I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. Your enemies will be right in your own household!

If you love your father or mother more than you love me, you are not worthy of being mine; or if you love your son or daughter more than me, you are not worthy of being mine. If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine. If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.

Anyone who receives you receives me, and anyone who receives me receives the Father who sent me. If you receive a prophet as one who speaks for God, you will be given the same reward as a prophet. And if you receive righteous people because of their righteousness, you will be given a reward like theirs. And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded (Matthew 10:32-42 NLT).

I write and speak a lot about our choice and how critical it is, for life on this earth and for eternal life. There are multiple sermons in these ten verses that were written from Jesus' instructions for His disciples (and for each of us). I can't even touch all that I would like to write about today. I ask that you please take the time to ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in the reading of this passage and ask Him to show you what He wants you to understand and see in this Scripture. May God bless your reading of His mighty Word.

Dear Lord, open the minds and hearts of Your children in the reading and understanding of Your word. Help us to understand that in order to gain life, we must give up our life and follow Jesus. I pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Sunday

Our Good, Good Father

My child, don’t reject the LORD’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you. For the LORD corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights (Proverbs 3:11-12 NLT).

Our Father in heaven corrects us when we get off course. His correction is out of His great love for us. Accept the adjustment, get back on the right path, and thank God for His amazing love.

Dear Lord, we all tend to get off track. I pray for Your gentle hand of correction to bring us back to where You designed us to be. In Jesus' name. Amen.
