Sharing Jesus

My dear brothers and sisters, if someone among you wanders away from the truth and is brought back, you can be sure that whoever brings the sinner back from wandering will save that person from death and bring about the forgiveness of many sins (James 5:19-20 NLT).

Walk the walk and talk the talk. Do not vary from sharing Jesus with all who you meet. The old saying really holds true, "You and your actions may be the only Bible someone ever reads".

If you claim Jesus as your Savior and are a professed Christian, you are (and should be) held to a higher standard. Remember, people are watching. You have the ability to lead them to Christ or turn them away from Him.

May God grant us His mercy, grace, and love so we might share His truth in this lost and dying world. Amen.

Tuesday

Complete Replenishment

Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty” (John 6:35 NLT).

Do you have a deep hunger for something that is missing in your life? Are you thirsty for a deep drink of cool water?

The answer to your hunger and thirst is Jesus. Period.

Maybe you have accepted Christ as your Savior, but you live a life that is not where you should be in the relationship. Maybe you have never truly asked Him into your heart, whatever the distance is, He is waiting on you to turn to Him.

If you want to fill the emptiness in your soul, there is only One who can fill it. Jesus!

It's time to subdue your hunger and quench your thirst.

Lord God, thank you for giving us a Savior and saving us from ourselves. It is in the mighty name of Jesus we pray and give thanks. Amen.

Wednesday

Walking In The Light

Jesus replied, “There are twelve hours of daylight every day. During the day people can walk safely. They can see because they have the light of this world. But at night there is danger of stumbling because they have no light” (John 11:9-10 NLT).

This broken world is full of darkness day and night. The darkness Jesus spoke of is not the literal nighttime darkness but the darkness of Satan and his demons who tempt us to the dark world of sin. Jesus Christ is the only answer to the darkness. Satan can't extinguish the Light of the World, Jesus.

Christians are given the task to be the hands and feet of Jesus so as followers of Christ we are challenged to shine Christ's light so people will see His truth and find direction for their lives.

Father God, remind us daily to shine Christ's light into this lost and dying world. Let us shine His light, not to glorify ourselves or anything we do, but to glorify Jesus and His sacrifice for our lives. Help your lost children see your light and follow it to repentance, forgiveness, and salvation. I ask and pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Thursday

Reflection

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see – such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him (Colossians 1:15-16 NLT).

My desire is to reflect on how awesome our God is, how He is the Creator and Redeemer, and how His plan is perfect from the beginning to the end. Unfortunately, I'm afraid I fail at this on a daily basis.

Scripture illustrates His perfect plan. A relationship with Jesus is the only way we can approach the throne of God. Don't put off this personal relationship any longer. Your decision has eternal consequences.

Thanks be to God. I thank Him for loving me and chasing me for all my wayward years.

If you are running from Him, why don't you stop and let Him catch you?

Dear Lord, let the lost come to you and bow at the feet of your amazing Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Friday

Live His Light

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice – the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect (Romans 12:1-2 NLT).

We must strive to be more like Christ today. This is a daily activity and commitment. We must live according to His truth. We must live His Light! Notice I said, we must "live His Light,” not just live "in His Light". We must be His Light to the world. We must live in this world but not be of this world. Focusing on Jesus is our only hope. Trust in Him.

Lord, open the eyes of the lost world so all people might see your love, mercy, and grace. We pray in Jesus' name, amen.

Saturday

The Map and the Guide

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV).

God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called. That has been said by many people for years, and it's so true. Through the Holy Spirit, God instructs us and directs our path. We are equipped, not by what we can do, but by what God can and will do through us.

I encourage everyone to sit down with God's Word and ask the Holy Spirit to direct the reading and understanding of His Word. It is amazing what God will show you as you read. You might even be reading the same passage that you have read many times and God will give you another point He wants you to see from it.

God's Word is referred to as the living Word. That is an accurate statement. God's Word never changes. His living Word will direct your thoughts and understanding to a new level as you ask the Holy Spirit to lead and direct you as you read. His Word is alive.

Father God, I praise your holy name. Thank you, Lord, for not only giving us a road map for life but giving us your guide, Jesus, to lead us in our understanding of life and the new kingdom to come. Your Word is as true today as it was when it was written. Amen.

Sunday

Speak His Truth

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable (Hebrews 4:13 NLT).

You might get mad at me or others who speak the truth of God's Word, but, in reality, you are not angry at us. Your anger is at God. We are just stating what we believe.

Please take time to open His Word and let God speak to you through it. It is the truth and the GPS for life – both present and future.

Thank you, Lord, for your Holy Word. Amen.

(Editor's Note:  "God Has a Gift for You" is the good news that restores the broken relationship we have with God because of our sin.)
