Continual Pursuit

Keep me safe, O God, for I have come to you for refuge. I said to the LORD, “You are my Master! Every good thing I have comes from you” (Psalms 16:1-2 NLT).

Trusting and relying on God should be the constant pursuit of a Christian. Learning to be strong in faith is a lifelong process.

When we accept Christ and begin the walk with Him, we undergo many changes. Just because we have accepted God's amazing grace of Christ's gift of salvation, doesn't mean we have "arrived" as a Christian. What it means is we are saved, and we must learn to be a follower of Christ.

Being in Christ is a lifelong pursuit.

Thank You Jesus! You are our King. Teach us to walk in Your ways. Amen.

Tuesday

By His Blood

But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved! (Ephesians 2:4, 5 NLT).

Thank you, Jesus! You bore my sins and the sins of the world upon your shoulders and died for us.

Thank you, God for your mercy and grace and the wonderful resurrection of your Son.

Father God, thank You for loving us and saving us from ourselves through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wednesday

Loving Others

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us (2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NLT).

We are given much by our heavenly Father, so we should give much to those in need.

I'm not just referring to money and funds; I am referring to love, mercy, grace. I also refer to our precious time. We can give much because we know how much God gave for us.

Thank You Lord, amen!

Thursday

Today Is Special

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6, 7 NLT).

God has something special for you to do today. Give the day to Him. Trust in Him and be thankful.

Heavenly Father, we praise Your mighty name. Thank You for loving us more than we deserve. Amen.

Friday

His Justice

God is an honest judge. He is angry with the wicked every day (Psalms 7:11 NLT).

People may think they are slick, and no one knows the lies and deception that they are perpetrating, but we can't fool God. He knows and justice will be His. Those who feel powerless about things going on around them can be assured that in the end, God's justice will prevail.

So don't be depressed or upset, just trust the situation to God. Pray His perfect will on whatever the situation, not our will but His.

Remember that it is His justice, not ours but His. Thanks be to God.

Father, thank you for being a just and loving God. Amen.

Saturday

The Love of God

For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him (John 3:16-17 NLT).

Today's Scripture exemplifies a good and loving father. We all have different experiences with our earthly fathers. Some great, some okay, and unfortunately some of our experiences are really bad.

No matter where your relationship is/was with your dad, you have a heavenly Father that loves you so much that He put on human skin, came to earth and walked among us. He lived a perfect and sinless life and then He gave Himself up to be sacrificed on a cross. His sacrifice was to wash away our sin, so that each of us might be saved.

The story just begins there because God rolled the stone away from the tomb and raised Christ to everlasting life, so that we too may join Him in heaven. That is what I call the ultimate love of God. Jesus died so that we might live.

So please remember, we have a heavenly Father that loves you more than the human mind can comprehend. Wrap your mind and heart around Him and feel the love.

Lord God, thank You for saving us from ourselves. Amen.

Sunday

Walking Through Life

This is what the Lord says: “Be just and fair to all. Do what is right and good, for I am coming soon to rescue you and to display my righteousness among you" (Isaiah 56:1 NLT).

Live as per God's Word and use His Word as your guide. His Word shows us how to be just and fair to others plus it tells us how to determine right from wrong (we sure can't depend on this world to do these things).

God's Word is as perfect as the day it was written. Depend on it. Thank you, Lord, for your map for life.

Father, help us to spend more time with You today and less time being mad, worrying, fearful or depressed. Let us live today as we are Your favored children. I ask in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus. Amen.
