Common Words

Let all that I am wait quietly before God,
for my hope is in him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will not be shaken.
My victory and honor come from God alone.
He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me (Psalm 62:5-7 NLT).

What do these words have in common?

  • Wait
  • Hope
  • Rock
  • Fortress
  • Victory
  • Honor
  • Refuge

Dear Lord, help us to see your love, mercy, and grace. In Christ's mighty name. Amen.

Seeking God

(Jesus speaking)

"Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today" (Matthew 6:33-34 NLT).

God doesn't hide from those who seek Him. In fact, His blessings are poured out on those who seek to find Him and attempt to live righteously, according to His Word. God doesn't hold back from supplying the needs of His children.

So, today's question is: Why is anyone holding back from giving their lives, hearts, and souls to God?

Lord, help us to totally trust in you. Help us focus on the fact that you are God. Thank you, Lord, for loving us even when we turn away from you. We praise you and worship you. Amen.

True Strength

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power (Ephesians 6:10 NLT).

No matter what you are going through, dealing with, or running from, you should have no fear if you are a child of the Most High.

You have the power, the mighty power of God on your side. Face your problems head on. Stand up to the Devil and claim God's victory over him. Jesus already won that battle, so stop fighting for something that all you need to do is claim.

I thank God every day for winning the battle for me. How about you? Have you thanked Him today?

Dear Lord, help us to fully accept that you have the final word and we need to just trust in you. In your name, I pray, amen.

Open Your Eyes

I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called -- his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance (Ephesians 1:18 NLT).

Whether you struggle accepting Christ or in your faith or in your ability to trust God, I pray each of you will just look around and see all that God has made. Look at a tree, a leaf, or a blade of grass. It didn't just happen, God created it. Open your eyes, and let His light shine into your soul.

Jesus Christ died for each of us. God raised Him to new life so we too might be raised to eternal life with Him. It is a glorious promise and fact from a loving God.

Dear Lord, bring your sheep to you. I ask and pray in your mighty name. Amen.

Grace In Abundance

God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant. So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 5:20-21 NLT).

Every morning before our feet hit the floor, we should thank God for His amazing grace. Only by His grace might we be saved from an eternity of separation from Him and anything good. With His grace and by our faith, we are assured eternal freedom and total peace in heaven with Him.

Dear Lord, thank you for loving us so much to come to earth and walk in our shoes. Lord, you know the temptations we face. You faced temptations and never gave in to them. We face temptation and fail daily. Lord, thank you for knowing how flawed we are and are still willing to save us from ourselves. You come to us as we are but never leave us as we are. Thank you, Jesus, and it's in your mighty name and by the power of the Holy Spirit, we pray and give thanks. Amen.

The Broken Are Healed

We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins (Romans 3:22-24 NLT).

We are all sinners. We are all broken people. But we don't have to wallow in that sin and brokenness. God gave us a way to a right relationship with Him. A relationship that lets us drop the old life and step into a new life. A life of righteousness, not our righteousness, but His.

You might ask, "What is this way?"

It's the only way where we can enter into the presence of God – the way, the truth, and the life who is JESUS CHRIST!

Dear Lord, let each of us put our pride away so we might see how broken we are. Let us realize we are in desperate need of a Savior. I ask and pray in Christ's amazing and matchless name, amen.

When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners (Romans 5:6 NLT)

We are absolutely and totally helpless without the saving grace of Jesus. Thank you, God, for sending Jesus to save us from ourselves.

Dear Lord, I praise your mighty name today for your never-ending, love, mercy, and grace. Thank you, Lord! Amen.

(Editor's Note:  "God Has a Gift for You" is the good news that restores the broken relationship we have with God because of our sin.)
