Americans, especially in the Christian community, can be thankful for the recent decisions handed down by the United States Supreme Court.

Over the past two weeks, we have seen major victories that restore and uphold religious freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution, along with the most important case in our nation’s history … the right of the unborn.

Carson v Makin
In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court ruled that religious schools can’t be excluded from a Maine program that offers tuition aid for private education. This means if a state offers school vouchers so that parents can choose the best education for their children, the vouchers (state funding) can be used to send them to private schools, even if they are Christian-based.

Kennedy v. Bremerton School District
This week the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Coach Joe Kennedy, who had been fired from his coaching job at Bremerton School District in the state of Washington. The school had told Coach Kennedy he could not pray on the football field following his team’s games on Friday nights. The Court said the Constitution protects private religious expression, including praying in public.

Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization
In a ruling that upheld Mississippi’s 2018 law banning virtually all abortions after the 15th week of pregnancy, the Supreme Court reversed its nearly 50-year-old Roe v. Wade national legalized abortion decision. The 6-3 decision follows the Constitution by giving back rights to the states on the abortion issue.

I invite you to join our AFA family today (Wednesday, June 29) in a Day of Praise to God for these great religious victories in our nation.

Throughout the day, let’s pause for a few moments to thank Him for His grace, His mercy, and His Spirit moving among the justices. Pray that our nation will continue to move toward becoming a more godly nation.
