Monday

Beginning To End

Your name, O Lord, endures forever;
your fame, O Lord, is known to every generation.
For the Lord will give justice to his people
and have compassion on his servants
(Psalm 135:13-14 NLT).

Have you really thought about the Word, forever? How about eternity?

How about being known to every generation? I know a lot of famous people, but they will never be known to every generation. Imagine that...every generation from creation to eternity!

We also serve a just and loving God who has compassion for all who serve Him and His kingdom. Just think, the Creator loves us and is compassionate for us. He is so compassionate He sent His Son as a sacrifice for our sins. Glory be to God, the Father.

Father God, thank you for your love, mercy, grace, and compassion. We praise you! Amen!

Tuesday

His Faithful Love

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!

His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods.
   His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords.
   His faithful love endures forever.

Give thanks to him who alone does mighty miracles.
   His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to him who made the heavens so skillfully.
   His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to him who placed the earth among the waters.
   His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to him who made the heavenly lights—
   His faithful love endures forever.
the sun to rule the day,

His faithful love endures forever.
and the moon and stars to rule the night.
His faithful love endures forever (Psalm 136:1-9 NLT).

I'm thankful today. How about each of you? I think of where I would be without Him. I know it wouldn't be good, in fact, it would be horrible. I'm sure that I'm not the only one that is feeling thankful this morning. How about you?

Are you feeling blessed and thankful for all that God has done, is doing, and is going to do in your life?

Father God, thank you. I feel blessed beyond all measures. I hope all who read this psalm realize how blessed and thankful they should be because we are loved by you, Abba. Lead us today, Lord God. Help us to walk the path that you have set before us. Lead us by your divine intervention. We pray and ask and praise you in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Wednesday

Guidance

The Lord will work out his plans for my life—
for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever.
Don’t abandon me, for you made me
(Psalm 138:8 NLT).

God knows the beginning and end. He has laid out a plan for each of us, but it's up to us to stay on His path.

So, a person might ask how do I do that? Well, we must read and study His Word. We should pray diligently for guidance, and we need to worship Him with all our hearts. Following this advice will keep each of us on the right path, but the old world wants us to deviate from God's plan. Satan wants to derail us from God's direction. Be on guard.

Dear Father God, help us to stay in close contact with you. Help us to take time to read and study your Word. Help us to pray and worship you each minute of each day. Lord, lead us by your Holy Spirit and guide us down the right pathways. We ask and pray in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Thursday

He Already Knows

Lord, you have examined my heart
    and know everything about me.
You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
You see me when I travel
and when I rest at home.
    You know everything I do.
You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand
(Psalm 139:1-6 NLT)!

We cannot surprise God with anything. He knows already. Whether it is good or bad in our lives, He knows. He knows the past, present, and future of our lives.

Even though God knows, He still tells us to ask Him for our needs and wants. Nothing is too big for Him to handle. He wants us to ask so that He has an open line of communication with us. He wants us to be close to Him and in turn, He will be close to us.

When we pray, “God, your will be done,” do we really know what we are asking? His will may be entirely different than our desires. Are you willing to give Him full control of a situation? When you give God control just know that He might handle it in a way that you can't understand or in a way you had never thought about. You may not understand why He handled your request in a certain way, but I know in the long run, it will be the best thing that could happen for you and your life. When you give a need to God, be ready. He hears our pleas, but remember His timing is not ours.

Let's pray Bobby Richardson's (World Series MVP for the New York Yankees) famous words: Lord God, your will, nothing more, nothing less, nothing else. Amen.

Friday

His Way, Not Ours

Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life
(Psalm 139:23-24 NLT).

Lord God,

Search me.

Test me.

Point out my faults to me.

Lead me.

Lord, we are in your mighty hands. Thank you for loving us. Amen.

Saturday

Continual Praise

I will exalt you, my God and King,
and praise your name forever and ever.
I will praise you every day;
yes, I will praise you forever.
Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise!
No one can measure his greatness
(Psalm 145:1-3 NLT).

Praise Him today, tomorrow, and every day for He is God. His love and faithfulness endure forever!

Lord God, thank you. We praise you with our hands held high. We fall to our knees in worship. We are thankful that you call us worthy of your amazing love. Thank you, Abba Father. Amen

Sunday

Promises Kept

The Lord is merciful and compassionate,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
The Lord is good to everyone.
He showers compassion on all his creation.
All of your works will thank you, Lord,
and your faithful followers will praise you.
They will speak of the glory of your kingdom;
they will give examples of your power.
They will tell about your mighty deeds
and about the majesty and glory of your reign.
For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.
    You rule throughout all generations.

The Lord always keeps his promises;
he is gracious in all he does (Psalm 145:8-13 NLT).

Our God is majestic and magnificent. We tend to put God on our level which cannot be done. As humans, we tend to forget that God is bigger, grander, larger, all-encompassing, and the Creator of the entire universe. We try to put Him in a box to what we want Him to be or what we want Him to do. Our brains have a hard time wrapping our minds around just how majestic He is.

Just sit back and realize that the God who loves each of us is the same God who merely spoke the universe into existence.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that God is God. We can't put Him in a box Him of what we want Him to be or to do. What we must do is ask Him into our lives and into our hearts. We must read His Word and praise and worship Him. We must trust that He is God.

Father God, forgive us for not respecting who you are. Forgive us for not praising and worshiping you as you should be worshiped and praised. Forgive us for trying to box you into what we want you to be and not giving you the glory and praise you deserve as the Creator of all things. Help us to give our lives and our hearts to you and to follow your Word. Help us to live out your Word in the world and share with the lost what a wonderful, loving God you are. We praise and worship you, Abba Father. Amen.

(Editor's Note:  "God Has a Gift for You" is the good news that restores the broken relationship we have with God because of our sin.)
