Have you ever considered how much your work and attitude matter to God? Evangelical Christians have consistently emphasized that man cannot be saved by works – and rightly so.  The good news of the gospel is that the righteousness that God requires comes to us through faith in Jesus (Romans 3:21-22). However, when we stand before Christ, He will commend the good stewards and reward them accordingly. How can we prepare for that day?

One of my guests recently on The Stand Radio was Regan Rose of Redeeming Productivity, author of the book, Well Done: A Strategy for Life Stewardship. Reagan shared profound insights into the concept of life stewardship from a Christian perspective, reminding us that believers are no longer their own (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and stewardship involves much more than money. It includes managing everything all that we are and all that we have for the glory of God.

One of the key Scriptures Reagan discussed with me was the parable of the talents in Matthew 25:14-29.  Reagan dug into the historical context of stewards in the ancient world, highlighting their role and the trust placed in them by their masters. He then drew strong parallels to our relationship with Christ, emphasizing the love and trust that must exist between us and Him.

For those looking to begin practicing good life stewardship, Reagan offered some great advice. He talked about the importance of focusing on the heart and getting close to Jesus through prayer, Scripture, and involvement in a local church. Additionally, he suggested creating a "well done" statement, where we define what faithfulness looks like in different areas of life and make concrete plans to improve where needed.

I hope you will listen to my conversation with Reagan Rose and explore his book, Well Done: A Strategy for Life Stewardship. By managing our time, talents, and treasures wisely, we can honor God and prepare for His return.
