Students For Life conference in Upper Marlboro, Maryland is the largest pro-life conference in America. Today on Friday, January 23, 2015 over 2,500 students will gather in favor of life. On the heels of the 42nd anniversary of Roe v. Wade there have been over 50 million babies killed according to the Guttmacher Institute (www.guttmacher.org).
The good news is there is a young generation that is gaining momentum when it comes to the pro-life movement. The American Family Association is sponsoring the 2015 SFL conference just outside Washington D.C. today. Hoping to draw young pro-lifers into the mission of AFA/AFR because we need more young Christians who are active in the culture war.
The responsibility of this mass slaughter of innocent life over the past four decades falls on all Americans shoulders. Our Congressional leaders bear even more responsibility because they have the legislative power to end abortion. With Republicans holding the majority in the House and Senate hopefully some pro-life legislation can reach the desk of President Obama. The numbers of abortions in America have been declining since 2008 and this needs to continue. God values each innocent baby in the womb (Proverbs 139:13-16). As Christians we need to continue to fight for life and for those in the womb who have no voice. We must be their voice.
