Planned Parenthood Clings to Life

What a strange irony. The multi-million dollar corporation that lives to kill is now struggling to survive.

In their desperation, Planned Parenthood funded the Women’s March on Washington that took place Saturday, one day short of the 44-year anniversary of Roe v. Wade. This march was primarily about women frantically clinging to the right that we alone have. It is a right that men do not have. For 44 years, our corrupt legal system has given women alone the right to kill babies.

Abortion, however, is not an actual right. Our rights are given to us by God. And He has clearly said, “Do not murder.” Abortion is a Satan-driven initiative.

PP has been fighting for survival in recent years as centers have been closing at a rapid pace. But, still, it remains at the forefront of the evil practice.

Far more PP centers have been closing every year than the number of new openings. In 2015 and 2016, the organization realized a net reduction of 42 centers. According to Jim Sedlak, executive director of American Life League, PP has been reduced to 624 facilities nationally from a high of 938.

Let’s look at some figures identifying the six-year period, from 2009 to 2014. According to ALL, PP’s customer base went from 2,990,000 to 2,470,000. That’s a reduction of more than a half-million in the number of overall customers entering the doors of PP – an 18% decrease. That’s pretty serious.

Also, from 2009 to 2014, the overall number of services that PP provided decreased: 63% fewer cancer screenings, 56% fewer breast exams, 70% fewer Pap smear tests, and 30% fewer abortions.

But according to ALL, the organization has since been working diligently to increase the number of medication (Mifepristone/RU-486) abortions committed within its scope of practice. In 2015 alone, PP added medication abortion capability to 25 of its existing facilities.

Abortion figures for the last two years are not yet available. The corporation is slow to release figures reflecting the number of abortions committed, and the amount of revenue secured from abortions is suspiciously absent from its annual reports.

We can be certain that Cecil Richards, CEO of PP, knows exactly how many abortions were committed. We can be sure that a vigil eye is kept on the revenue gains and losses realized as a result, and we can be sure that clear and pressing goals are set for increasing those numbers. That’s her job.

But why do you suppose they don’t want the taxpayers to know? We are, after all, paying for a huge chunk of the abortion giant’s operating expenses. In 2016, PP received more than $553 million from the federal government, aka taxpayers – you and me.

Former PP clinic director Abby Johnson explained:

Planned Parenthood’s bottom line is numbers. And, with abortion as its primary moneymaker, that means implementing a quota. As a Planned Parenthood clinic manager, I was directed to double the number of abortions our clinic performed in order to drive up revenue.

Though 98%  of Planned Parenthood’s services to pregnant women are abortion, Planned Parenthood and its political allies have sworn up and down that taxpayer dollars do not to pay for abortion. But of course they do.

PP and its advocates claim that abortion is only 3% of the “services” they provide. We’re not falling for it. Game over.

Live Action recently produced this short video to illustrate exactly how they reached that bogus number.

In addition to these deceptive calculation methods, Johnson said that those numbers were further “strategically skewed by unbundling family planning services so that each patient shows anywhere from 5 to 20 ‘visits’ per appointment (i.e., 12 packs of birth control equals 12 visits) and doing the opposite with abortion visits, bundling them together so that each appointment equals one visit. The resulting difference between family planning and abortion ‘visits’ is striking.”

You can call it misrepresentation, or you can call it lies. PP is a corrupt and evil organization that we need to stop funding now.

We are on the precipice of finally seeing that happen – of making that happen. We all have a part in bringing down the Goliath of our day.
