American Family Association Mourns Death of R.C. Sproul
TUPELO, Miss.—R.C. Sproul, founder of Ligonier Ministries, died Thursday afternoon at the age of 78.
According to Christianity Today, Sproul was ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and brought theological education to the masses on his radio show “Renewing Your Mind,” his ministry’s Tabletalk magazine, and through more than 3,000 lecture series, 90 books and dozens of articles.
The American Family Association (AFA, www.afa.net) released the following statement after his passing.
“We mourn the great loss of theologian R.C. Sproul, and pray for his family, ministry partners and many listeners and readers who will now be left with an incredible void,” said AFA President Tim Wildmon. “R.C. Sproul introduced countless believers to a real and ever-present God, helped them dive deeply into His Word and stood with families. His passing saddens us here on Earth, but He is undoubtedly rejoicing with the Lord His Savior today.”
